This holiday season, the greatest gift we can give ourselves is the gift of acceptance.
Today, I want to share a prayer that I turn to often.
The Acceptance Prayer has helped me see through the lens of love whenever fear has me in a headlock, and I turn to this prayer whenever my judgment has gotten the best of me.
It has a powerful energy behind it. Even if acceptance feels way out of reach, saying the words of this prayer will change your attitude. Practice this prayer regularly and pay attention to your internal shifts.
Through the energy of acceptance I release my grievances and accept a solution of the highest good.
LET APPRECIATION LEAD YOU
One of the most important elements of co-creating the life you desire is to let appreciation lead you. Whatever you appreciate you create more of. This is because when you’re in a state of appreciation, you’re in vibrational alignment with your true love nature. Appreciation is an energy of acceptance and non-resistance — and without resistance we are Super Attractors.
In a state of appreciation you’re relaxed, surrendered, and faithful. That is the perfect energy for allowing your desires to come into form. When you’re aligned with appreciation you can surrender your desires to the Universe and trust in a plan beyond your own.
TO ACCEPT IS TO LOVE
The most loving thing we can do for someone (and ourselves) is to accept. When we accept what was, we can step into what can be.
When we accept others we give them space to grow. When we accept ourselves we clear the path to create a new story. Marianne Williamson says, “Let go of your story so the Universe can write a new one for you.” The moment you choose acceptance you invite the Universe to start writing.
One of the ways we can shift our focus onto acceptance is through prayer. A Course in Miracles teaches that spirit accepts and the ego analyzes. Spirit accepts what is true, which is that we are all love.
Accepting someone where they are is not only the kindest thing you can do for them, it’s also the kindest thing you can do for yourself.
WHAT YOU FOCUS ON YOU CREATE
By consistently practicing acceptance of others you can see them with compassion, and realign with your true love nature. Through acceptance you release the resistance you’ve placed within your relationship, clearing the way for healing and for you to access more loving thoughts and feelings.
When you change your thoughts and feelings about another person, you change your energy toward them. The other person will receive your shift in energy and feel released by you. Best of all, your shift in energy gives you momentum to continue releasing judgment so you can feel complete and free.
Acceptance offers you this freedom.
Say this prayer daily—and pay attention to the guidance you receive throughout the day—is a simple and easy way to stay connected to your spiritual practice and keep your faith strong no matter what is going on in the world.
