People ask me all the time what I do for exercise. I want to answer this very honestly, because exercise can be a difficult topic for many people.

Do you have a love-hate relationship with exercise?

Exercise can bring up a lot of funky feelings. You may be really self-conscious about your athletic skills. Or you may be stuck in this story where you think you hate exercising. You might think exercise is something you “have” to do. Or maybe you think that if you don’t work out like Instagram fitness stars, you’re not doing it right.

I hope that by sharing my own exercise secret, I can help dispel some of those harmful ideas and stories.

How I exercise

Watch the video below or keep reading to learn my #1 exercise secret.

My #1 exercise secret: Move in some way every day

My #1 exercise secret is to simply move in some way every day. That’s it. Move in some way every day. Some days I can get to that SoulCycle class. Some days I can do that 90 minutes of Kundalini. But most days all I have time for is 20 minutes of Pilates or some stretching. If the weather is nice, I also love to walk in nature or walk around the city while running errands.

Tweet: Make exercise a part of your spiritual practice. Move in some way every day. @gabbybernstein

I’ve made the commitment to move in some way every day. Moving every day doesn’t mean that you have to do a 45-minute workout every morning. (Though if that is something that serves you, do it.) It means moving.

Don’t put pressure on yourself if you make the commitment to move. See it as a spiritual act. See movement as joyful, as a way to get grounded in your body, lift your energy and reignite your connection to spirit!

Movement is an awesome way to connect to spirit

Super Attractor: Methods for Manifesting a Life Beyond Your Wildest Dreams, by Gabrielle BernsteinIn my new book, Super Attractor, I teach you my favorite, most powerful methods for connecting to spirit and manifesting the life you want.

One of the lessons I share involves physically moving while repeating empowering affirmations. This is something I do every day! This tool is one of many ways we can feel good. Feeling good is what attracts our desires. (So when exercise helps you feel good, it’s actually an awesome manifesting tool!)

When you order Super Attractor (published in Sept. 2019), you’ll also get my FREE Manifesting Jumpstart Workshop with practices to prepare you for the book.

Move in whatever way feels good

So that’s it. Commit to moving in some way every day if it serves you to do so. Take off the pressure. Move in whatever way feels GOOD!

  • Take a walk.
  • Go for a swim.
  • Do 10 minutes of yoga online.
  • Play with your kids.
  • Try a dance class.
  • Go for a bike ride.
  • Hit the gym and lift weights

Have fun with it. If you like to sweat, then sweat! Sweating is a beautiful way to detoxify.

I hope this serves you and helps to shift your perspective on exercise. Just move in some way every day.
