Gabby Bernstein writing in her Super Attractor Journal | morning journalingEach morning when we wake up, we can go in one of two directions: We can set ourselves up to feel good with rituals like meditating, setting intentions, morning journaling and exercising… or we can pick up our phones, gulp down coffee and start rushing around.

When we choose the second option, we often start the day feeling overwhelmed and anxious. Our mind races with everything we have to get done. If we’ve looked at social media, we might already be comparing ourselves to other people or feeling stressed by hot takes on the news.

The morning is a sacred time — it’s when we choose how we want the rest of the day to go. Therefore, it’s crucial that we change our habits.

The great news is that a single shift in our behavior can redirect our entire day.

My morning journaling practice

My journal is a crucial part of my spiritual practice. One exercise that I do every day is something I call the Daily Design Method. I teach this method in Super Attractor as a way to direct your good-feeling emotions so you attract what you want throughout the day.

The Daily Design Method

This method is easy to do and feels really good. Each morning when you wake up, open your journal and answer these four questions:

  • How do I want to feel today?
  • Who do I want to be today?
  • What do I want to receive today?
  • What do I want to give today?

Be specific and have fun!

Take your time answering each question as specifically as possible. This is a process of co-creating your day with the Universe, so include meaningful details.

See yourself feeling satisfied as you finish a task that you’ve been avoiding. Envision yourself having positive encounters with everyone from your family to your coworkers. Picture your morning commute going smoothly.

Design your day exactly how you want it to be and have fun writing about it! This is my favorite morning journaling exercise. It’s so empowering and feels so good.

This method combines creative visualization with clear intention setting and feeling good. As you design your day, allow yourself to feel really good about what you’re writing down and ride that wave of positive momentum!

I created the Super Attractor Journal to help you manifest your deepest desires

Super Attractor Journal by Gabrielle Bernstein with Micaela EzraThe Super Attractor Journal holds space for you to practice the powerful methods that align you with the Universe, including the Daily Design Method.

The journal has writing prompts and exercises, mantras from the book, and the most beautiful watercolor illustrations by my best friend, Micaela Ezra.

Journaling is an important part of the manifesting process. It helps us clarify our desires, set up visualizations, and receive messages from spirit guides and angels.

Focus on how you want to feel

Designing your day and writing it down is a powerful way to focus on exactly how you want to feel — and all manifestation begins with desire.

This morning journaling exercise makes feeling good a priority and helps you direct your good-feeling emotions toward what you want.

Tweet: All manifestation begins with desire. @gabbybernstein #superattractor

We all want to feel good, but we don’t consciously think thoughts and take actions that make us feel good. In fact, we often do the opposite.

Caring about how you feel means that you become more deliberate about the words you choose, the thoughts you think and the actions you take. It means that you go out of your way to realign your energy with love.

When you make the Daily Design Method a morning habit, you’ll start to notice that things begin to work out exactly as you planned — or that something even better happens. Not only will you go through your day feeling happier and less stressed, but the high-vibration energy you carry with you will ripple outward. Other people will pick up on it and respond to you more positively.

Enjoy this practice. Give yourself 10 minutes to design your day with this morning journaling exercise, and then watch in awe as your visions come to life!

  1. I’ve been doing this daily, and in conjunction with my meditation and the rest of my journalling practice (and working through Super Attractor), I’ve been experiencing good things. On one particular morning, I wrote that I wanted to feel energized. Afterward, for hours, I felt energized in a happy, giddy way.

Lots of high vibration energy here.

  2. Gabby, in just two short months I have read 4 of your books and downloaded several videos and meditation albums. I am already feeling the shift. I recently got out of an 18 year marriage and while it was an amicable and loving separation, the newness of my new life in a new home with all of the challenges that present themselves with any break up have let my ego run rampant!

I am so grateful for the knowledge and practical wisdom you have brought to all of your spirit junkies like myself.

    Namaste,

  3. Thank you for this…. it makes me want to commit to taking the time every morning to set the tone and intention of the day.

  4. Gabby,
I loved this! The 4 questions spark really good energy. Brief recap… 1) Completing projects so I can have fun getting ready for my well deserved Bahamas vacation… 2) Being THAT girl in the red dress I plan to buy… 3) Receiving a paycheck or TWO today… 4) Give my children EXTRA pocket money today so they can have a happy day tooo… Xo

  5. My heart is so full! Thank You, the energetic shift I feel is so palpable!

On another awesome note. I have been immersing myself in your God is My Publicist and Judgment Detox universes! All I can say is… WOW WOW and Thank You Sister! Thank You.

Have a great day and keep up the great work!

  6. I just wanted to say that I’m about halfway through Super Attractor. Your method of choosing joy now has been an absolute game changer for me. I have depression and anxiety that gets pretty intense.
Every day from the time I woke up to the time I went to bed I was ruminating on fear based thoughts about my existence and whether I was enough.

Ever since I started reading your book and applying the methods, I don’t do it anymore and when I have to deal with something unpleasant, it’s much easier for me to redirect and find peace. This has been ongoing for years, you don’t know how grateful I am to finally have relief from all of this, thank you so much Gabby.

  7. I journal every night and it really helps me get all my thoughts down from the day I’ve had. I try to notice what’s working and what’s not working, and write down everything I am wanting to manifest. With a 3 1/2 year-old son mornings are crazy, but I want to commit to doing this after I drop him off at school. Thank you! If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them! I am currently reading Super Attractor and I have the Gorgeous journal as well! You are such a light, Gabby. Thank you so much!

  9. Just did this! I’ve been trying to wake up in time to journal for a few weeks. I finally did it today and already I know I’ll have a better day than yesterday. Thank you Gab!

  10. Hi Gabby! Thank you for sharing so much great content across your social media platforms! I’m in the middle of Super Attractor now (it’s my Los Angeles traffic audiobook!) and am ordering the journal this week. I was wondering if the monthly membership happens to ever get discounted around Black Friday to about $150 or any other holiday sale? I’ve been trying to stay on budget and accountable of my spending habits and it’s just a bit out of my price range at the moment but keep checking just in case. 🙂

  11. Sharing some of my first Daily Design Method :
Today I want to feel HAPPY + thankful for all that I do have ~ to feel safe, secure, organized, + clean in my home. I want to feel accomplished + strong in everything I do + everything I am.

Today I want to be the nourishing, blissful, intentional, loving Health Coach that I am.

Let’s believe in ourselves + trust for the unknown…

I love this authentic approach ~ Thank you for this Gabby !

  12. Gabby;
I get daily messages sent to my inbox from gratefulness.org. I will read them, write them in my journal and then they become my mantra for that day. There are some that are really thought provoking and I will expand on my thought sin my journal. Each night before I go to bed I write 5 things I was grateful for that day before I start to journal. It’s been a life changing shift that is so simple but results are monumental.

  13. I rarely have to breathe let alone write, but something needs to change in my life because what I am doing now is not working.

  14. I think this is a great idea Gabby and I will start to put this journaling into practice. I think I was afraid of writing my thoughts down on a daily basis but I think now that I am in a better place, I might find a much more positive me than I was before! I am seriously surrendering any fears that I have, and it’s making such a difference to my life. It’s an every day practice that I must trust for my health as well. Sometimes I have to remind myself – surrendering applies to everything! Thank you for your true guidance. Ann

      1. Hi Gabby thanks for your reply. I have been starting this journaling but unfortunately I am very sad to say that I have discovered that I am so full of self hatred it almost makes me cry. I see I have a lot of work to do. x

  15. Love this!! So helpful!! And honestly came to me at the perfect time!! I was feeling very scattered this morning and new I had to grounded in some way to set the pase for my day! I love you! You are such an inspiration!!

  16. Can’t wait to start this! Aligning with love first thing in the morning is so powerful! I usually pull a card from “The Universe has your Back” Deck every morning, and do EFT tapping meditations (from the app). I do gratitude journaling before I go to bed and its made a huge difference in my ability to relax and go to sleep!

I like the Daily Journal Method because its very specific and I often need help honing in on how I want to be during my day.

Thank you so much for these exercises and of course, the book, Super Attractor!

    With love,

    Susan

  17. I love how simple this is! and that it can take 10 minutes! And I love realigning with
love towards myself. I get into the do do do mode soon after I wake up, so this will
start my day with how do I want to FEEL. So easy……..so simple……thank you!

  18. So cool!! I practiced this this morning and just opened your email!! I love this method. So easy and simple. It really helps me into alignment of my highest good!

  19. Awesome Gabby just received both books so excited about starting them, love your talks on Instagram, they make my day, love Kim x

  20. I desire love, dedication to my daily morning practice with mindful planning, lemon water, 5 min DM workout, meditation and journaling with morning coffee.

  21. I had thought just yesterday (after a challenging morning) about how important setting up your day positively was, but I hadn’t taken the time to implement anything yet. This is easy and fun. Thank you x

  22. HI Gabby,
Thank you for sharing these questions. I had to tweak them a bit because the word “want” feels loaded for me. In so many books I have read, it seems if I want I am in some kind of lack. So I am trying to be very careful with my words. I can see the spirit of these questions is not about lack at all! But I intend to use it less.

I changed the questions to read:
How do I prefer to feel today?
    Who can I be today?
What would I love to receive today?
    What can I give today?
Wishing you continued success in all that you do?
    Karen

  23. Thank you Gabby for sharing your journaling prompts as a Daily Design Method from Super Attractor. I also believe we can revisit those questions at the end of the day and see how any manifestations worked. Congrats on the book and tour! You are such a guiding spiritual light for me. All the best to you and your family!

  24. I really need to see this today, Gabby. Working my way through Super Attractor and looking to make some positive changes in all that I do.

Thank you for the on point message. Love it!

  25. Good Morning Gabby! I actually do this already and couldn’t agree with you more! I am adding the specific questions you have to my morning ritual and look forward to it. Thank you for sharing! Blessings & love ~ Tonya

  26. This was exactly what I needed this morning. The day did not start off well and I did not get my morning “zen” time of reading, meditation and writing before I came into my office and this was the clarity that I needed to give myself at just the right moment. Thank you for sharing this. I am almost done reading the Super Attractor book and especially love the journal – every page is a delicate piece of art. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

  27. Thanks on this, Gabby!

Question: What if (like me, sometimes) one wakes up feeling REALLY in the pits: Anxiety, tears, trepidation….all those negative emotions wrapped up into one ball of anxiety?

I mean: The REAL pits. BOTTOM.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks! Dan

    1. Dan, thank you for reaching out.

I want to share some resources with you that I think you may find helpful.

SAMHSA.gov is a great government resource. They have a free, confidential helpline that is available 24/7. The number is 1-800-662-4357. This service provides referrals to local treatment facilities, support groups, and community-based organizations. You can also order free publications and other information.

If you are struggling to find care, I recommend checking out mentalhealth.gov, The National Alliance on Mental Illness, and the Anxiety and Depression Association of America.

I want to honor you for doing all you can to care for yourself. It takes courage and strength to find help and change habits.

Finally, in case you are thinking about hurting yourself I just want to share this suicide prevention hotline number with you: 1-800-273-8255. It’s free, confidential and available 24/7. There are amazing trained professionals who staff this line. You can also chat with them online at https://suicidepreventionlifeline.org/.

      Sending you deep love.

  28. incorporating this practice as part of my morning routine…let the “super attracting” begin! thank you for sharing!

  29. Dear Gabby, thank you for another wonderful and beautiful book. I have book and journal I also subscribe to your meditation and mantras!
Thank you again for contributing to making this planet a better place. All the love and blessings!
    Dana Burton❤️

  30. I love this idea. I have practiced with a gratitude journal for the last year and it has created so much joy and peace for me. Having more intention with these 4 questions just adds more beauty to my day. The Super Attractor journal is my favorite. It is so beautiful. The moment I wake, come into my office and see this journal I feel at home.

I only recommend products and brands I passionately believe in, but wanted you to know that when I make a recommendation, I may receive a referral fee.
