How to End Sugar Cravings with EFT

I’m psyched to share that I’m three months off sugar! Throughout my journey of quitting sugar I’ve used a really awesome tool called Tapping, otherwise known as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). This technique is a psychological acupressure exercise that supports your emotional health. By tapping on specific energy meridians on your body, you can unblock ancient fears, limiting beliefs and negative patterns. When stimulated, your body’s energy meridians can trigger the amygdala (a.k.a. the “fight or flight” part of brain) and signal it to calm down. When the amygdala gets the memo that it’s safe to relax, stress is immediately reduced. I’ve found tapping to be one of the best ways to curb sugar cravings.

Hi gabby i started today may 28 2019. i started feeling 10 and at the end of the video i did 5 so that is great for me im been eating candy since i was 6 and i am 30 now and haven’t stooped since i love the video and your support you are great thank you so much for doing this you are a angel thanks again god bless you.

  4. I went from a 6 to a 2. I couldn’t stop thinking about sugar in a cookie, shake, anything!! Almost went out of way to work to the store for something sweet. I literally no longer am desiring anything. I’m amazed and saving this video to watch whenever this feeling tries to consume me. Thank you!

    1. Hey! I just found out about this video and it already helped a bit to drop the number, but I was wondering with what hand do I need to tap? Can I mirror you? Also is there a specific way to hold the fingers or I’ll just hold them how I find comfortable?

      1. You can tap with either hand. Tap lightly with your fingertips holding them however feels comfortable!

  5. Absolutely fabulous what a wonderful experience. I went from a 7 to a 2 hopefully now I will feel a lot less lethargic and be more able to spend more quality time with people I admire, respect and love. We have all been through tough times over the last few years and I am so happy that I have invested my time and money in the teachings of Guru Gabby Bernstein. I apologise for not taking the time to meet Gabby personally in London as I was unwell at the time. I still have a meeting with you on my urgent to do list. I now realise that I too have extreme powers to overcome tremendous challenges in the face of a plethora of negativity. I now hope that people will take a good look at themselves and think twice before they blurt out hatred both verbally and across social media. Thankfully there are now robust worldwide laws to protect vulnerable individuals and I will do best to ensure any such person is dealt with within the full legalities of the law. I wish you well in continuing what you do and thank you for being my angel.

  6. Gabby thank you for making this easy to follow video; my professor from college taught us this and I have been trying to remember just what it was. I was abler to find your page on Google search. I use this every time I have an urge to use pot, and although I’m not “out of the smoke” yet, this really does comfort me in my weakest moments.   7. I love that every time I tap the number gets lower. As soon as I finish my intuition gives me the number. BUT, I feel a deep resistance to accept how much my number dropped. Part of me wants the number to be higher and to struggle. My question is how do I get rid of this resistance to change and enjoy how the tapping works? Many thanks! xoxo

I’ve seen you introduce this a while back and hadn’t tried it since that time. I followed this video and had to laugh because you mentioned cookies! I’ve been going back to the cupboard TOO MANY times tonight getting “just 2 more Samoas” and it has turned into eating almost three rows! If you like Girl Scout cookies you know what I mean!   19. This is so timely!!! I’ve been addicted to sugar for as long as I can remember. My dad was an alcoholic and there was always some kind of dessert in the house. I am insulin resistant and even though I know that i can’t eat all of this sugar I ignore it because I love it!! It’s got to stop before I get diabetes! I need help and have been looking at the internet for the solution. I think that I have just found it! THANK YOU!!!!!

I just listened to an interview with Nick Ortner and Wayne Dyer about EFT and then I saw your VLOG about EFT and sugar which I had just given up 10 days ago and then today had a cupcake and was feeling very low.   26. Hi Gabby thankyou for posting this video it has been a godsend! I have a real issue controlling my cravings around my time of the month. But I know by carrying on to use this video every day that all of those addictive cravings will lift. I just keep falling off the bandwagon after doing really well for a few days or even a week and then binging on a large bar of chocolate, its very frustrating as sugar is slowly creeping back in to my life and it makes my brain feel foggy!   28. Hey Gabrielle, this was such an amazing video thank you. Ive dealt with sugar addiction pretty much my whole life… I beat myself up after I indulge and I just feel crappy when I do. I feel like I cant go a day with out it eventhough I know there is no health benefit in it. I will be watching this every morning! whats a good meditation to do with this?

  29. Love it ! I’ve been using EFT as one of my two go to tools with my clients for helping them with anything from eating/weight loss to anxiety ! Nice to see that tapping is gaining momentum in popularity. It should be noted that even though you can get great results doing follow along tapping using videos or recorded audio that working with a trained practitioner brings the experience to a whole new level.

  33. I guess it’s not something for me, as I actually want sugar and chocolate in my dream life (we only get a one shot at living, so why spend this life without chocolate?) I just wish it was a cake with a friend now and then rather than a daily ritual, sort of.

  34. Great vlog! But I’m wondering, do we need to give up the fructose in fruits to get over this sugar addiction? I am totally sugar addicted, but I’d hate to give up my fruits. And do we include the carbs in things like white potatoes? All “white stuff”? I want to get over this once and for all, so I don’t want to throw in things that will set me off again. Thanks!

  37. Wow I just did it before my meal and it totally worked. Usually I can not finish a meal without a cookie and right before doing it all I could think of was the cookie I was gonna have. Afterwards I was craving a kiwi. Amazing.

  38. Hey Gabby! SO my addiction is coffee. it makes me anxious, moody, and leaves me feeling so high then low. I can use this tapping for any addiction I assume correct? do u have any spiritual prayers handy for releasing coffee addiction?? I know it’s causing my body harm, and yet I still obsess about when to squeeze in my coffee break…

    1. Hi Dana, blockages in the money/finance department often relates to feelings of powerlessness and the solar chakra. If the feeling of powerlessness resonates with you (was that feeling often present in past relationships or childhood) try tapping on that.

  41. This was great! Although I am not addicted to refined sugars, I do eat my fair share of organic sugar, which I guess in my mind seems, ‘okay’ or ‘better’. However, as of lately, I have been eating A LOT more of this sugar than I want to be eating or need to be eating. This video was great! I started off as a seven and then once I finished the exercise, I was a five! My FAVORITE part of this video was when you said (Gabrielle), today I will do my best. That is all that we CAN DO.   43. Tap into the emotions you feel, in addition to saying the words. Feel the frustration in your body, feel the anxiety, describe how it feels (this pounding in my chest) (these butterflies in my stomach) feel what it feels like to judge yourself, feel them, express them, accept them and release them.

  44. Fantastic vlog, Gabby. I am a therapist/nutritionist and am familiar with tapping and find it so helpful, but what really excites me is that this video may help my sugar addicted 15 year old. Parents can’t tell a teenager ANYTHING, but with this information coming from you, my sweet (no pun intended) daughter may be able to take it in.

  45. This is so wonderful. I feel like the world looks at me and sees this thin, healthy being, but underneath it all i have had a sugar addiction that has held me back in so many ways. It makes me feel hopeless and until I got your last blog about quitting sugar I was really on my own.   46. Just fab, Gabby. I went from an 8 to a 4. It feels really weird but it works. I get addicted to so many things – I am a bit of an obsessive personality type and fall into the trap very easily. I count my love of alcohol as part of this sugar addiction and I commit to the 40 day practice now. Wish me luck and have a fantastic time in Brazil. I’m working MCM at the moment (Day 22 and loving every second of it) and yesterday i was listening to your interview with Nick Ortner that came with the book all about tapping. I was planning to do some of my own google research on it but i decided to check ur website first to see if your new vlog was up. . .what perfect timing – and a definite wink to the universe.
    I followed along with the video and started around 6 -7 and ended at a 2. . .love it! I was just wondering though, does it matter if you use your right or left hand to do the tapping? and can i use this same tapping for a different addiction and just replace the words?
