This week’s Dear Guides episode has a twist.
My spiritual bestie MaryAnn DiMarco channeled her guides to interview me. And she did not hold back. What came through was some of the most unfiltered, vulnerable conversation I’ve ever had on camera.
No script. No plan. Just two best friends, our guides, and the truth.
What It Actually Means to Live a Heart-Centered Life
MaryAnn opened with a question that stopped me in my tracks: What does it mean to live a heart-centered life — personally and professionally?
Personally, it means I’m constantly looking at my side of the street. I’m the non-judgmental witness of my own patterns, my triggers, the parts of me that aren’t in alignment — and I take ownership of that. Then I do whatever it takes to get back into consciousness. Repair. Make amends. Open my heart again.
And then rinse and repeat. Because I mess up a lot. I’m human. I’m also a bit of a pain in the ass. I have a big personality, big goals, lots of parts — so I have to stay in active relationship with all of them.
Professionally, it’s almost easier — especially when there’s no dynamic between me and the person I’m serving. When I’m on a stage or writing a book, there’s no relational trigger. My ego steps aside. I just become the conduit and let the light come through.
Two Decades of Healing — What It Actually Feels Like
I’ve spent over two decades on this journey of undoing the stories of my past and unburdening the parts of myself that were carrying so much weight. And I can tell you: I now know what healing feels like in my body.
It feels like ease. It feels like safety. It feels like a deep trust — trust that I have the capacity to mother myself, to love the young parts of me, to not abandon myself when things get hard.
That’s what I want for you. That light you see in me? It’s yours too. It was always yours. But you have to be willing to do the work to get there.
A great first step is my Free Self Help Manifesting Meditation:
Manifesting Isn’t Spiritual Practice — And That Distinction Could Change Everything
Here’s the teaching I feel most called to share right now.
Somewhere along the way, manifesting became confused with spiritual practice. And they’re not the same thing.
Manifesting is a natural byproduct of spiritual practice. It’s not the practice itself.
Real spiritual practice means developing a genuine willingness to raise your conscious awareness — not just changing your thoughts, but actually grounding your nervous system. When you do both, you become a new frequency. You establish a vibrational alignment that starts to match the frequency of the spiritual realm. And when those two frequencies meet? That’s when things speed up. Coincidences become natural. Guidance flows. Manifestation happens — effortlessly.
That’s what it means to be tuned up and tuned in.
The Problem with Trendy Manifesting
I want to be clear: there’s nothing wrong with the manifesting content you see on TikTok. It’s a higher vibration than doom-scrolling or tearing people apart online. I’m genuinely grateful for that.
But here’s the issue: if your beliefs, words, and actions aren’t aligned — if you’re repeating an affirmation that some part of you doesn’t actually believe — you’re not developing a new energetic frequency. You’re not connecting to the spiritual realm. And that leads to disappointment.
Worse, manic manifesting can become its own kind of spiritual bypass. Writing something down 5,000 times or filling vision board after vision board — when the real agenda is I need to go get something rather than I want to feel something — that’s not alignment. That’s fear dressed up as faith.
If you find yourself chasing, frantic, doing-doing-doing… that’s a protector part working overtime because it doesn’t feel safe just being. That’s the work. That’s what my book Self Help is actually about — and why I call it my best manifesting book. When you heal the core beliefs, safety comes online. And safety is the vibration that matches the spiritual realm. That’s when you become a natural super attractor.
Spiritual Activation vs. Manifestation
What I really want to move toward is the language of spiritual activation.
Manifesting was always meant to be a doorway — a reminder that you have the power to connect spiritually, not just to get things, but to be something. To live in alignment. To walk through the world with unshakable faith that you are guided, protected, and capable of healing yourself.
That’s the message I’ve been building toward for twenty years. And it’s the heart of my next book, Unshakable Faith — which I’m finally writing with real space and intention. MaryAnn said something to me that stayed with me: Return to your roots. So that’s what I’m doing.
What I Want You to Take From This Episode
The spiritual foundation comes first. Always. Raise your conscious awareness. Ground your nervous system. Heal the core beliefs. Build the faith.
Then watch what you attract.
This isn’t about doing it perfectly. It’s about doing it genuinely. It’s about choosing — again and again — to come back to yourself, to the divine within you, and to trust that when you’re truly tuned in, you don’t need to chase anything.
It’s already done.
If you’re ready to go deeper on the inner work, start with Self Help — it’s the best manifesting book I’ve ever written.
