Appreciation is the topic of today’s Dear Gabby, and this is one of my FAVORITE topics of all time. Leaning into appreciation is truly the fastest way to manifest your desires and to feel good!

However, sometimes I still get caught up in the little annoyances of life. Let’s face it: It’s human to get annoyed! So I’m extra appreciative that my husband and I once got stuck in an elevator together. 

You may be thinking, “Hold up, Gabby! What’s so great about being stuck in an elevator? Sounds kind of scary to me!” And to be honest, it was … at first. (My husband in particular is not a fan of small spaces.) 

The elevator incident came on a day when I was feeling super stressed, and I was in go-go-go mode. It’s funny how the Universe works, because having to wait for an elevator technician in that small box forced me to pause. 

After my initial thought—“Oh, F! How am I going to get through this?”—it dawned on me that I had been given an opportunity from the Universe. With nowhere to go and nothing to do but wait, I decided to act as the lighthouse. 

Knowing that my husband is claustrophobic, I took care of him. I gave him a massage; I spoke loving words; I lifted his energy; and I prayed. The more I leaned into the light, the better I felt. My husband became more at ease too. And when I look back at that time of waiting for an elevator tech, I remember it as a divine moment of love. 

That’s what happens when we take a moment to appreciate what we have. Even when everything in our life isn’t perfect (in fact, especially then!), we can still take a moment to focus on what IS thriving. And that’s exactly what I teach on this episode of Dear Gabby
