After reading Nick Ortner’s book The Tapping Solution, I became passionate about tapping and started to apply the technique to every area of my life.
What is tapping?
Tapping, otherwise known as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), is a psychological acupressure technique that supports your emotional and physical health. By tapping on specific energy meridians on your body, you can release ancient fears, limiting beliefs, negative patterns and even physical pain.
In today’s video we’re going to tap on pain. We all are affected by physical pain in different ways. Whether it’s a daily neck ache from hunching over a laptop, PMS cramps or chronic pain from an injury, tapping can help you release it.
How tapping on pain works
Sometimes our obsession over physical pain stems from an emotion. Our emotions trigger shifts in our body’s delicate balance of hormones and neurotransmitters. Positive emotions support our health, while negative emotions stimulate stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol.
Negative emotions are also a major contributor to pain. Tapping on your pain allows you to release your emotional attachment to it, thereby relieving the physical discomfort as well. If it sounds powerful, that’s because it is!
When you watch this video, repeat each phrase I say while tapping on the different meridians specified. Just follow my lead and expect miracles!
my daughter has chest pains. we went to emergency rooms – no heart issues, Michael
Praying for your daughter’s health and recovery, Michael. xoxo
Incredible I have heard a lot about this but never tried it. I get a lot of headaches and have been referred to a neurologist. I started the video at a 7 and finished at around 2.5 so grateful. This is something I will definitely continue to practice.
I hope this practice serves you, Hayley. Sending healing vibes. xo
I went from a 10+ (I got knocked off a horse and extremely sore…nothing broken) I was unable to breathe without pain. Afterwards, I am a REAL 3 or 4! Now I can start moving more!
Thanks
Amazing, Carina! So glad EFT resonates with you! It’s an amazing tool! xoxo
I had a partial foot amputation a month ago and am unable to sleep due to grabbing the sheets, screaming out for Jesus, battlefield pain, described as neuropathic pain. Do you have any specific advice for this kind of wrenching, debilitating pain? Thanks.
Heidi, please reach out to your treating physician or your nearest hospital for medical advice to treat your significant pain.
While it is not a substitute for medical advice, in the meantime, the tools in this post may be helpful to you:

Definitely less pain thanks.
You’re welcome, Elana. So glad EFT Tapping is serving you. xoxo
I felt my lower back loosening almost immediately. I started at a 9/10 and now I’m about a 6… I’ll know for sure where I stand when I try to do dishes or laundry. I will definitely do this for a longer period of time.
Thank you so much for posting this Gabby!!
You are welcome Alicia. You can return to these practices as often as you need to. Sending healing love your way xo
Hi Gabby,
I definitely felt a huge change in the pain level of both knee’s, hip’s and left elbow but my right elbow is still somewhat painfull. I plan to do some more tapping later for my right elbow.
Thank you
Malcolm

I have severe fibromyalgia and I think my pain went from a 10 to maybe an 8 after watching your session. Thank you. I will tune in again.
Amazing, Linda. Hopefully with continued practice the combination of EFT and your medical treatment can get you down to a 2 or lower! xoxo
I have jaw and head pain during times of stress. I also have pain in my hands. This helped. ❤️

I am not a mainstream fan of Gabby’s but her tapping works. I was a 10 in terms of emotional pain, physical pain, and stress. Now I’m a 9. For me that’s phenomenal — here I am in terrible pain — I wake up very upset my jaw I can feel the anger and the hurt the pain the stress in my face, neck, shoulders, left arm and to sit with the Gabby video and go through the stress or now the pain tapping gives me some relief and I can try again and again rather than lay in bed or sit in this terrible state .
I tell myself if I have to do some chores or I just don’t feel like typing just listen to her and just imagine I’m tapping even that is better than laying there upset or moving around my home doing chores upset.
I also created my own technique for returning the pain to people who are not willing to change and be decent or ethical or empathetic so I try that as well that I don’t have to carry their evil and they’re bad in my body and my mind in my spirit in my body.
I always bought Gabby books when they came out and I bought the audio thing for me is an offense is the voice I wish it was softer and she’s grown softer but I still think there’s something it just bothers me however she is great there’s no doubt about it and for me to just have even a little relief is huge so thanks and gratitude.
I was assaulted and violated at the doctors in SoHo new York city and I’m on year Seven no justice and it’s a lot to cope with
Thank you so much for posting this. It made a serious impact on me.
Even though I’ve been too shy to post so far, I really felt compelled by this one.
I’m sharing it on my Facebook.
🙂 thanks brad!
I dont know my shift in numbers but I know I started off sad and dejected and I ended with a hopeful smile!
Hi gabby! Went from a 7 to a 4 in just that quick span. My pain is in the same areas you discussed so this was a perfect video and your tone is always so calming. I’m so grateful for you
That’s beautiful! I’m so happy these tools are helping you. Sending you lots of love!
My neck pain went from a 7 to 3. It’s great to feel lighter, but I really liked how it started to awaken and release emotions I’ve been holding onto for too long. I’m going to try a longer session.
This has completely changed my life, my pain went from a 10 to a 3 today. Thanks so much Gabby!
I’ve had a nagging, dull ache on the left side of my back for almost two months now. I went from a 7 to 1!
I really liked that your script seemed like something I could come up with. I struggle with what to say when tapping.
Question about EB point. I was taught by Gary C. that the area is the other end of the EB where it is near the top of the bridge of the nose. It looks like you are tapping the outside of the EB. Is this significant or do you think it matters?
Thanks, Mike
Gabby,
I have a chronic autoimmunity disease (Crohns) that has forced me to live with a lot of minor pains and discomfort on a daily basis – chronic fatigue, back pain, UTI’s, abdominal pain, dehydration, headaches, bloating, you name it…I’m only 24 and having had this for 10 years now, I’m realizing the emotional toll it takes to constantly carry around that pain. I think women – whatever physical crap we have to struggle with – have an immense capacity to carry pain, and with that ability to carry pain we carry all of our emotional experiences (sitting in a doc’s office and being scared…) Of all the various things I’ve tried to manage my symptoms, Tapping has been incredible. I’ve found that I usually feel an amazing sense of freeness…often because what I’m really facing and releasing is the anger, frustration, and sadness that comes with that pain. The best way I can think of pain now is a physical vehicle for me to face and deal with my emotions. And tapping is the driver to helping me quiet down and release it. Thanks Gabby for bringing this incredibly powerful and free tool to so many women who deserve and need it!! You are amazing! xx
I have fibro mostly in my neck shoulders upper back! Went for massage last night cause pain was so bad I’m in a fibro flare up now for 5 days all massage did was make me sore this morning ! Found your video on line today I was at about a 8-9 pain wise did the tapping session twice now pain is down to about a 3!!! I can handle that and function pretty well!!! It’s amazing how the tapping works and loosens the muscles and relaxes them where an hour massage could not !! Plus it’s FREE!! Lol rks
Awesome! Would this work on epilepsy? My daughter is on lots of medication and her eeg is still not good although the big seizures are under control. Would love to hear your comment on this!
I did this yesterday and had to come back to comment because after I tapped along to this video my pelvic pain went from an 8 to a zero and it still hasn’t come back (and this is a nerve thing that bugs me to some degree every day). I’m really blown away!
Thank you Gabby for sharing this. I followed it from another link on FB…amazing how we end up where we’re supposed to be looking isn’t it 🙂 An EFT practitioner here had asked me to take part in a workshop as the ‘patient’ as she was picking up so much particularly emotional stuff from me..I’d never heard of it and admit I have been very sceptical about it and couldn’t make my mind up whether to go along. I just tried your tapping technique for pain, my tension headache/neck pain has gone from a 6 to a 1 just like that… thank you so much. I’ve just realised I can be in control of things. Bless you . xx 🙂 🙂
i’m in tears typing this – i have ongoing pain from degenerated discs in my lower back which put a stop to me finishing my yoga teacher training earlier this year and blew out my dreams from under me very suddenly. i just watched your video and followed along, and was (obviously) overcome with emotion – i went from my usual everyday 5 / 6 to not being able to register the pain at all. thank you so much gabby, i will have to look into tapping further.
tapping is miraculous! xoxo
It’s amazing&very relaxing work.
My pain decreased from 6 to 1.
Thank you so much for the information.
I did the tapping with along with you, but I’m fortunate that I don’t experience much physical pain. I got real clear during the tapping that my pain is from not expressing my creative side. The following day, a devastating tornado hit Moore, OK, which is about 2 hours North of where I live in Texas. I knew I had to help, and designed a t-shirt to sell as a fund raiser, got it to a printer the next day, and was ready to hand them out 72 hours after disaster struck. It was one of the first times I followed through with one of my “good ideas”, facing fears and doing it anyway. I attribute my bravery in large part to the tapping. Happy to experiment with it more!
Cindy
Tx for this Gaby! My garndmother is taking her last breaths as I write this, so I was experiencing deep pain, as well as a headache. This tapping session helped release some of that accumulated pain.
Namaste.
blessings to you and your family
This was an amazing demonstration. I could really feel the difference in my back which was giving me some issues. Does this process have a certification program or is it really that simple? Can you do it by distance for an animal that you know is having problems with arthritis?
I am so happy that I saw this today! Thank you! <3
Thanks, Gabby! I love your tapping videos. I have Nick’s book but it’s nice to have a guided video to watch and follow.
I was tapping on some intense pain in my hip flexors. It released a little bit and I plan to do more tapping but it’s still pretty intense. It started yesterday morning and I think it has something to do with an emotion that came up/woke up in my Kundalini class on Friday night. We did a kriya for the sciatic nerve and yesterday morning I woke up with some pain in my hip flexors and lower back. Today, the pain has seriously slowed me down to the point where it’s painful to stand up straight. I’m trying to have faith that this is some type of intense release of emotion from Kundalini and just let it be but it’s been the same intensity all day today. Have you experienced anything like this after Kundalini or know anyone who has? I’m trying not to be scared and let it ride but boy it’s getting tough.
I actually did this tapping exercise again last night on a different “area” and actually had awesome results again. Hard to measure it given it’s a feeling I was seeking, an opening i wanted to create, etc…. but I felt light when it was done! THANK YOU!
Wow it helped! I felt kind of odd at first but it did work. My pain went from an 8 to a 4. Thank you! It was like mind over matter. First to work for me ever and I have been through a lot with my depression, Fibro, Degenerstive Disks, R.A., Osteoarthritis, Sciatica, IBS and more. I am going to find quiet places to continue this in the future.

Love the video, Gabby, thank you! Went from a 5 in my neck and shoulders to a 1, with a big smile on my face. 😀
OMG !!i went from 10 to 2 lower back. Thank you so much. God bless you.
awesome right!
As a long-time tapper, I respectfully recommend that you change some of your phrasing. I always use positive statements such as “I no longer need this pain” or “I am ready to release this pain.” I don’t use phrases such as “I am sick of this pain” or “I don’t want to be a victim…”
I was inspired to try this technique after a long work day today. I was really hard on myself for eating cupcakes at work. I am trying to avoid sugar due to candida and when I do eat sugar, I get made at myself. I also have a misguided concept of my weight and rarely feel fully satisfied with my fitness level. I then started to get down on myself about not sharing enough of the cupcakes with other co-workers and untrue fears like that. I started to feel tension in my back and my jaw. This tapping exercise really helped me understand that my physical pain was a representation of the guilt and judgement I put myself through. I desire to be much for compassionate and forgiving of myself. This tapping exercise helped me take a step closer to this desire. Thank you, Gabby.
Dear Gaby,
it’s such a comfort to hear you speak out loud and directly to pain, knowing that there are ways out of these prisons we create for ourselves.
you’re a real guide for me
thanks so much
I can’t thank you enough for this. My mind was consumed by my neck/shoulder pain today. Nothing was working. I have been considering tapping but today, I had noting to lose. I went from a 10 to a 0 inside my shoulder and from a 10-6 in my neck. It was such a breakthrough it brought tears. I will try it again longer for my neck. Many blessings to you Gabby.
Nice, i studied some of this briefly on how meridians are the path of chi.. Amazing, keep dishing out Gems
Oh wow! I am feeling this worked. Holy cow! I have had an enormous psoas muscle tear, which I believe was also causing some hip issues, etc. It was due to a gym and bike over-extension. It’s been bothering me for months, and wow, I just feel great today. I haven’t gotten on the bike yet. But I can tell that given no pain literally all day today, that my body is healing! This is amazing! I want to “tap” a bunch of other things. Incredible! Thank you! Beyond words!
Gabby you are so pretty! I feel very relaxed after that EFT.
I love this! Really helps me reduce stress and centre myself. Going to buy the book now! Big love from London xx
Hi Gabby
Thank you for this. I have a question:
I have Cluster Headaches (like a v severe migraine/neuralgia) and my face and head are too painful to tap on during an attack. Will tapping when I am not in pain (or in lower levels of pain) still help?
Thanks for any advice
L
Hi Gabby! I have never done tapping before, and find that a lot of tension goes to my neck and shoulders. Does tapping on those areas help also? Thanks!
Hi Gabby, thank you so very much for this awesome video. I have had stress pain between my shoulder blades for a few years now, which has made my meditation sessions quite uncomfortable. When I followed your video yesterday the pain moved up to my neck so this morning I followed the process again & I can’t believe the difference it has made. The pain hasn’t completely gone but its gone from an 8 to about a 2 or 3. Amazing!!! That is all I have to say, oh & I love you! S. XO
I ‘ve been to urgent care, twice, in the past 48 hours with immense abdominal pain. I woke up this morning feeling a little better, thanks to some medication, but was still experiencing cramping and sharp pain when standing up. I opened my laptop to this! I started at about a 9, did the meditation once and it went down to a 7. Immediately after stopping it shot back up-so I did it again and it went from an 8-9 to a 5. I will continue…it seems the pain completely subsides while I’m physically tapping-focusing on something other than my pain.:)
Thanks!
keep it up:) feel better!
Hello. This is fantastic. I have felt the pain drop from my body. I would say it is an 8.
And I also realise that I am attached to this pain because it helps me get attention. And I can seek refuge in it when things go bad to avoid facing Life
very wise
Hi! Great technique! Thanks.
What about tapping and meditation to help kids? (I have a 7 and a 4 year old girl who sometimes need some of these!)
do this with her
Thanks!!
Thanks Gabby,
I have more emotional than physical pain, but I went down from an 8 to a 5. Progress. I loved May Cause Miracles and must say you are wise beyond your years. I send the love and light within me to you and to all open to receiving it. THX AGAIN!
Hi Gabby, can you tap for anxiety or does it have to be physical? Thank you x
Okay, I must admit that I was really skeptical at first. Yes, I was! But, I restarted the video and I was like “I’m going to give this a shot.” So, I sat up and starting tapping. I didn’t say the things out loud because everyone in my house is sleep. But, I listened to you and started tapping. And, it works! I had some pain in my upper back and I swear it went away…weird! I’m going to have to read some more of your wonderful post and start to look at things from a new perspective.
XOXO,
Latrisha
I forgot how well tapping works. This perspective of using tapping to let go of emotions attached to pain was new to me. While I was tapping under the arm and repeating, “this pain makes me feel sad”, I experienced a shift. After repeating the exercise twice, my lower back pain went from 6 to 2. Thank you for sharing this technique on pain. It’s a great pain management method, drug free!
Yes, this is a truly different approach to releasing pain. But, now I love it. I’m going to have to start practicing this more. Because, I do think it’s a technique that should be used long term.
XOXO,
Latrisha
Hi Gabby God bless you during my 18 months illness been following your meditation,as well as a lot of your videos which I listen to all day long!!! Guess what I also found you at the same time as I found meditation and tapping! Thank you, you inspire me as I knew there would be a tapping video! Like yourself mine pain is on my shoulders and chest!!! Already the scale has gone down with your previous tapping!!! This one will be miraculous!!!! Well my angel you nailed all in one bless you love you x x x
awesome …pains gone…thankyou!
I actually felt my aura grow, during the first tapping point. AMAZING!
Neck pain went from a 7 to a 2. EFT is so therapeutic. Not only does it work on the specific area you focus on, but it creates an overall sense of calm and well-being. Love you, Gabby! Thank you for your ongoing support.
I was skeptical of this at first because I found during the last tapping video I couldn’t really notice any change but this time the pain in my shoulders went from a 7 or 8 down to a 2! That is amazing!!! I’m in shock that it is that easy. Thank you!!!! : )
I love EFT. I attended the world tapping summit this year and it was a life changer!! So cool that you can keep giving us all these tools to help release the discomfort.
Wow! Thank you Ms. Bernstein. I watched your video because I was feeling really, really angry and wanted to release it. Before the video, I was at 10+ and after the video I am at around 6. Keep it coming!
Wow first time i have tried this technique and it really helped some lower back pain i have had the past couple days!
Thank you Gabrielle, love your work xxxx
Oh My God! Gabby – I did weight training today – my feet and arms were in pain – Went from an 8 to about a 4! I am SO shocked at how that just worked! :O Thank you for sharing! 😀 xx
My neck and shoulder tightness and pain went from a seven to a four. I hope I can remember this!!!!!!!!
Hi, Gabby,
This came at such a serendipitous time. My son took a fall yesterday and ended up with 8 stitches in his head. All in all, we are very fortunate. He’s ok, just very sore around the stitches. I’d love to show him these techniques to help with the discomfort (adding lots of hugs and kisses 😉 Thanks for this and all of your other videos!
Karen
The pain in my lower back is gone! Amazing:)
I love Love love your hairstyle and you look fabulous with a little more makeup. Loved the video thank you
Love The Tapping Solution and all you are doing to promote it. It really works! My daily headaches have gone down significantly. Your video is great because it is nice to be led and not have to think about what to say when you are in pain. Took me from a 4 to a 1. Thank you for all you do!
I forget to tap. I had been awake all night with period pain and tapped from a 9 to a 4-5.
Thanks for the reminder on tapping. Going to Bali soon on vacation and I think I’ll start my day with tapping.
I do the har meditation now daily and I love it. I then go inside after 11 minutes and allow my inner wise self to speak clearly…works a charm 😉
Wowza! How amazing 🙂 My neck pain faded. Thank you thank you thank you!
Wow I am very aware of the pain, emotional/physical connection already but this was a great exercise!!! I have had a troublesome time recovering from neck surgery last Oct ’12 but just this short session took my pain from a 9 to a 7. I am booking marking this so that I can listen to it again a few more times until I have it memorized and will make it a daily practice, as I completely felt the emotional pain trying to separate from the physical pain. Thank you x 100. looking to more miraclles from you. xoxo
This totally helped me today…my whole body was aching with horrible headache….after tapping I can honestly say I feel relief, enough that I can rest now…Thank you!! xo
so cool right
Thanks, Gabby! This even helps with heartburn – from a 5 to a 1.
amaze
Hi Gabby my pain did not get less (I have a pain in my knee due to many years of dancing). However, I had an excellent laught watching the video, so thanks anyway for posting it. Sat Nam
Gus
even with this short session the aching in my legs went from an 8 “gee,my legs are aching today” to a 2 ‘lets get the windows washed!”. I will be extending my sessions as you suggest. Thanks so much for the kick start.
nice work
Thank you so much Gabby! I have been in pain for years in my lower back and I went from an 8 to a 3! The relief came with a feeling of warmth in my lower back.
Your work is truly life changing!
this isn’t my work:) I’m just sharing the technology… And you’re doing the work!! Nice one
Does this work with head aches or just back pain? Or any pain?
yes all pain
Looking gorgeous Sister Goddess!
This video came at the perfect time for me! My lower back pain was at a 10 before the tapping and afterward it was at about a 3.
Thank you so much!!
xoxo
it’s so awesome!
Awesome Gabby…
From about a 4 to 1. Thanks so much, I always wanted to try tapping.
You’re great!
right on!
Gabby,
EFT/Tapping is awesome to let go of stress and to bring in affirmations. That exercise was helpful. Yet, Advanced Integrative Therapy (AIT) is even a deeper way to cleanse lodged emotions, stress, trauma, and triggers immediately to get unstuck while opening up space to let in positive energy and experiences.
AIT helps one release the mind/body & spiritual connection to toxic energy and stress. Check me out at AUTHENTICALLY U! on FB or my website to read my article on the process and benefits of AIT.
Remember, when you tap on your chest tap on the chakra beside your center heart one. It’s further away from your heart chakra. Also, one needs to take some deep breaths as they are tapping to help the process.
Take care and keep up your great work,
Marilyn
Gabby, I respect your work deeply but have to be honest, I’ve been skeptical of the whole tapping thing, no matter who I’ve seen present the information (and I’ve been seeing it a lot lately). But my pain level is at an 11+ today after two days of heavy exercise, plus emotional pain from some ongoing drama in my life, so I was desperate for any sort of relief.
I’m writing to say I found some. Pain overall is down to about a 6, in the areas in which I concentrated, a 1 or 2. It convinced me enough that I tapped again to try to release some of the emotional pain (which has kept me from being productive today AT ALL). I feel a little better now – at least better enough that I’m sitting at my desk and am going to try to get some work done.
Truly, thank you, Gabby.
wonderful!
Thanks Gabby and Nick! I have been living like a slave for about 20 years. Slave of my shoulder pain. I did the tapping session with you Gabby today, and just to tapp and speak out loud that I don’t have to live any longer with this pain, makes me feel better already.
But, since the pain has settled in so well, i feel like I will need to do more tapping and see wether tere are some emotions underlying back there…
You are amazing Gab, I wish I could meet you one day! But you’re so far away! Any chance to visit France or Austria one day?
Thanks for the guided tapping- I feel calmer. And felt that awareness of the emotional holding on, so I released it. It’s all good 🙂 sat nam
Love it, I recently read Nick Ortners book and had since forgotten these techniques, thank you for reminding me! It helps during stressful times so much 🙂
I have done tapping on and off for a few years. More off than on lately. Woke up today with right shoulder and neck pain. Sat down in front of my computer and saw your email, clicked on the video and did the tapping. Yay!! Pain gone from a nine to a one. Thank you for everything that you do to remind me of who I am.
amazing right!
Like you, I carry pain in my chest and shoulders and as much stretching and yoga I do to help relieve it, nothing has worked as well as this! THANK YOU!! I can’t wait to share this with my mom 🙂
Hi Gabby!
Thanks so much! I have chronic pain in my neck, and I went from a 7 to a 2. Wow! I will keep at this!
Thank you you rock!
Sat nam,
Gloria
I went from a 6 to a 2, with
pain from bladder infection. Amazing stuff, thanks Gabrielle. I’ll be continuing it x
I’ve been led through tapping sessions by many – your tone felt so real and believable that it was easy for me to believe myself when I repeated! Shoulder stress reduced form 8 to 2ish … what a morning!
happy it helped!
I had pain in my side, neck and back yesterday so I took a hot clay bath and did a great tapping session. I left the bath with no pain at all.
Your work impresses me deeply. Thank you for your way being Gabrielle.
Hi Gabby,
This was beautiful! Thank you so much for this clip on tapping. Felt significant relief 🙂 I’ve been listening to your meditations every day and they’re so beautiful and insightful. God bless you for your beautiful work! xx Sarah
so happy to hear that
Oh I’m hearing you sista! I too carry all my stress/ overwhelm on my shoulders and in my chest (the cracking + popping sternum always gives it away – eek!)
I’m a huge EFT fan so this was the perfect vid to watch today. Love your work Gabby, thank you so much x
🙂 xoxo
Me too. I can really tell when I’m carrying a lot of stress and it’s very damaging to you physically as well as mentally. When I feel more pain/stress I can literally feel my shoulders feeling heavier.
You knocked it out of the park again Gab!
I went from a 6 to a 2 in my lower back. Thank you sister x
amazing!!! Go EFT
Gaby
I’ve been trying tapping for pain and it works awesome, in my case it was in the shoulders and it went from 8 to 6 the first time, then I tried tapping longer and it went to 2. I was wondering if I could do the same for a chronic bronchial-lung problem I’ve been having for the last year, (I went to the lung specialist and was prescribed medicine, but I do not feel the difference). I’m on my second read of your wonderful book “May cause miracles” I loved it so much I decided to make it a part of my daily life.
Thanks 🙂
nice!
Gabby, Wow pain all over to relief. Smiles, breath feels deeper. Empowered. Moving to meditate and tap away negativety and feelings of pain.
I’m grateful.
a miracle. thank you for sharing.
