In this episode of Dear Guides, I sat down with psychic medium Sean Collyns to get a full education on aura colors meanings and how to start seeing, reading, and working with your own aura. Sean is an Australian medium with a gift for teaching these tools in a way that feels accessible, fun, and deeply practical.

This is one of those episodes I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. I came in as a real student, and I left with a completely new way of relating to my own energy. I know you’re going to feel the same.

What Is an Aura?

When I asked Sean to start at the very beginning, he explained it beautifully.

An aura is the energy field around a person. It’s expressed through what you’re feeling and what is literally emanating from your being. Every psychic or intuitive is connecting into someone’s aura whether they realize it or not — but when we understand the colors, we can interpret what the aura is actually communicating.

Sean also made a distinction I found really helpful. The energy field and the aura aren’t exactly the same thing. Think of the energy field as the glass, and the aura as the water inside it. The energy field is the container. The aura is the living, shifting expression of energy within it.

And here’s something beautiful: auras aren’t just for people. Animals have them. Trees have them. Anything that’s living has an aura. If you have pets, you can practice reading their energy. You can even look at a tree and try to sense what it’s emanating.

What Do Aura Colors Mean? A Guide to Each Color

This is where it gets really interesting. Each aura color corresponds to one of the chakras, so if you have any familiarity with the chakra system, you already have a head start on interpreting what you see.

Here’s a breakdown of what each color communicates:

Purple and Indigo: Spiritual Connection and Psychic Ability

Purple in someone’s aura signals spiritual energy — a deep connection to spirit, to God, to the Universe. It indicates someone who is highly spiritually attuned in that moment.

Deep indigo blue is the color of the third eye chakra. It’s associated with psychic abilities, heightened awareness, and intellectual information being processed at a higher level.

Blue: Communication and Calm

Lighter blue is throat chakra energy. It signals communication — the desire or ability to express clearly.

Sean mentioned that if you see light blue clouded with gray, that person may be feeling blocked in what they want to say. It’s subtle, but once you know how to read it, you’ll start to notice it everywhere.

Pink and Green: The Heart Chakra

Pink and green are the colors of the heart chakra. When these colors are present, a person is in a place of love and expansion. They’re open-hearted, generous, and radiating warmth.

During our conversation, Sean saw a lot of pink and green around me — and honestly? It felt accurate.

Yellow and Orange: Confidence, Creativity, and Desire

Yellow connects to the solar plexus — that sense of self, of “I am.” It’s where our confidence and personal power live.

Orange is the sacral chakra: creativity, desire, and a deep sense of satisfaction in life. When orange is prominent, that person is in their creative flow.

Red: Foundation and Survival

Red is the root chakra. It’s all about foundational energy — home, money, work, security.

Sean told me that red is the most common color he sees when doing aura readings. And it makes complete sense. Most of us are operating from that foundational level most of the time. We’re thinking about our job, our family, our bills. Red doesn’t mean something is wrong. It just means someone is in their human experience, doing the work of being alive.

How to Read Your Own Aura

This is where the real magic happens — and Sean made it incredibly accessible. He calls the foundational practice “going into the power.”

Step 1: Go Into the Power

Close your eyes and bring your awareness down into the center of your chest. Feel into your heart space.

Visualize a pure white light there. As you hold your attention on it, feel it growing — expanding outward past your shoulders, over your head, filling the space around you.

Within that expanded awareness, notice if a particular color or feeling of a color comes forward. Don’t force it. Don’t analyze it. Just trust the first impression.

Then ask yourself: What does this color tell me about my energy today? Is this something I want more of, or something I’m ready to release?

If you want more of it, imagine amplifying it — turning it up like a dial. If you’re ready to let it go, visualize it being absorbed by that white light, transmuted, released.

Sean reminded us: “You don’t need to know what it was or what it meant. Just see it being released.”

Step 2: Activate Your Third Eye Vision

This is the technique for actually seeing the aura visually — and it’s more accessible than you might think.Practice this in front of a mirror.

Close your eyes and notice the subtle upward-and-backward shift of your awareness — about an inch up and in from where your eyes were focused. That shift is your brain moving from primary vision to your third eye, your secondary source of vision.

Once you’ve located that feeling, gently open your eyes with a very soft gaze — almost like you’re slightly blurring your vision. Hold your attention in that internal space while letting your eyes rest on your reflection.

Look at your shoulder first. Look for a slight fuzziness, a heat-haze quality around the edges of your body. That’s the beginning of the aura becoming visible.

As the haze builds, use your peripheral vision to pick up on color. Don’t stare directly at it. Let it come to you.

One practical tip from Sean: dim lighting makes auras more vibrant. A salt lamp, curtains drawn, a little natural light — that kind of environment helps. You’re not trying to see in the dark. You’re removing the visual noise that makes subtle energy harder to perceive.

How to Read Someone Else’s Aura

Once you can sense your own aura, reading someone else’s becomes a natural extension. The technique is the same — soft gaze, third eye activated, beginning with the shoulder — but now you’re extending your awareness outward instead of inward.

When I tried this with Sean during our episode, I was surprised by how effortless it felt. It wasn’t dramatic or overwhelming. It started as a sense of color, almost more felt than seen, and then the color began to clarify.

I saw pink around Sean — that heart energy — and gold around his head. And then I started receiving information about his energy that I hadn’t consciously thought out. It was direct. It came from somewhere other than my analytical mind.

Sean also pointed out something I found fascinating about how auras communicate: what shows up on the left side of a person’s aura tends to reflect recent energy — what they’ve been going through. What shows up on the right tends to reflect what’s coming toward them, where they’re moving next.

What Does It Mean When Your Aura Has Mixed Colors?

Nearly everyone’s aura contains multiple colors. There’s usually a predominant color — the one that shows up consistently and reflects your overall energetic nature — and then smaller colors that are more situational, more fluid.

Those smaller colors are telling you what’s happening for you right now. They shift as your emotions, circumstances, and energy shift. They’re the living, breathing part of the aura reading.

Sean describes interpreting these multiple colors as learning your own language. Your brain won’t show you auras the same way another person’s brain will show them. The symbols, the placement, the intensity — all of it gets filtered through the way your unique mind processes intuitive information.

Two people reading the same aura might receive the same information through different images or colors. That’s not a problem. That’s just how the psychic language works.

How to Expand, Protect, and Clear Your Aura

Your aura isn’t static. It responds to your choices, your environment, and your intention. And that means you have real agency over it.

Expanding Your Aura

When you go into a state of openness and high vibration — on stage, in meditation, in creative flow — your aura naturally expands. You start to hold others within your field. You might feel it in your hands, a sense of warmth or tingling, an instinct to open your arms.

This is a beautiful state to cultivate when you want to connect deeply, serve others, or access spiritual guidance. It’s the state of openness to your guides, to God consciousness, to angels.

Deliberately expanding your aura is something you can practice. Use Sean’s “going into the power” technique, choose the color that feels right for what you want to call in, and let it build.

Closing and Protecting Your Aura

This is just as important as expanding it — and I want to make sure we don’t skip it.

Opening up energetically requires a conscious practice of closing back down. When I get off stage, I deliberately close my energy field. I call it pulling my cloak closed. The party’s over. Time’s up.

Sean frames it as a decision: “It’s really about making the decision — that was the time and place for that. And now this is the time to bring it back.”

If you find it hard to close your aura back down, pay attention to that. Sean says it often means part of you is still curious, still wanting more. And that’s okay — but it needs a time and a place. Staying open without that boundary can lead to energetic drain and burnout.

When you’re on the subway, in traffic, in a crowded space, or in the middle of a difficult emotional time: close it down. You can always open again when it’s safe and intentional to do so.

Clearing Low-Vibrational Energy

If you’ve taken on someone else’s energy — and energetically sensitive people do this all the time — nature is your fastest reset.

Walk in the trees. Sit by water. Put your feet in the grass. Walk barefoot on the beach.

Sean put it so beautifully: trees literally take in carbon dioxide and return oxygen. They do the same with negative energy. They absorb the heaviness and transmute it. Nature knows how to clear what we’re carrying.

You can also use visualization: see the heavy energy being absorbed by white light, transmuted inside your field, and released. You don’t have to understand what it was. You just have to let it go.

A Guided Meditation to Sense Your Aura Right Now

Sean led us through a beautiful meditation during the episode (watch it here), and I want to share the essence of it here. If you can, sit in front of a mirror in a dimly lit room. If not, close your eyes and trust what comes.

1. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Let go of any expectation of what you’ll see or feel. Be completely open.

2. Feel your awareness shift. Notice how, behind closed eyes, your attention moves slightly upward and backward. That’s your third eye engaging.

3. Let a color come forward. Without forcing it, notice if any color drops into your awareness. You might see it, feel it, or just sense it. Trust the first thing you get.

4. Ask what it’s telling you. What does this color say about my energy today? Is this something I want more of, or something I’m ready to release?

5. Soften your eyes open. Look at yourself in the mirror (or extend your awareness outward) and look for the haze around your body. Let it build. Let the color develop.

6. Receive the message. Notice what’s bright and beautiful in your field. Notice what feels heavy. Let the heavy be transmuted. Let the light get stronger.

7. Close with hands on heart. Feel all of that energy drawing back toward you — concentrated, clear, and yours.

Welcome back to Dear Guides on my show, Dear Gabby. Today, I'm joined by psychic medium Sean Collins, and he is gonna teach you how to sense your own aura. We're covering what aura colors mean, what causes your aura to change, and how to start understanding the energy of the people around you. You do. I love you. You really do. You're my Aussie brother, 'cause I feel like Australians are my people, and I love Australia, so hi, Aussie friends out there, Dear Guides fans. I love you guys. You've been a medium from a long, for a long time, and you've got a lot of fans out there in Australia, now all throughout the, out Europe and here in the US, and you've got your new book out, and you also have this expertise in seeing auras- Yes and connecting to people's auras, but a lot of people are new to this, and I am too, to be very honest. I'm gonna be a real student. I'm gonna be taking notes today. Amazing. Let's just start with, what is an aura? I love reading auras. This is one of the first things that ever really pulled me in, because when I started seeing spirits, they would stand next to a person and show up in their aura. Okay. But an aura is the energy field around a person. And you know, all psychics are connecting into an aura, whether they're seeing anything or not. We wanna see it, 'cause we wanna see the colors, we wanna know how to interpret them, we wanna read them in that way. But the aura's just the field of energy around the person that is expressed through what they're feeling and what is emitting from their being. So how do you know what your aura is telling you? It, it all comes down to, like, sensing things first, you know? Because people wanna see the colors, they wanna understand them from that perspective, but people can connect into their own aura by being super aware of what is being felt within them and in the space around them, and that's where the very foundation of interpretation happens from. Is there certain colors of the aura that mean different things? They do, absolutely. But if people have an understanding of the chakras, then they can also have an understanding of what color is coming from where, you know? What do each chakra color mean for the newcomer? So purple, if there's purple in someone's aura, it will often mean spiritual energy, connected to spirit, connected to God, universe. They're, they're a very spiritually connected person in that moment. Deep indigo blue is the color of the third eye, which is often representing psychic abilities, uh, awareness, intellectual information being processed. Lighter blue is where the throat is, and that will often signal communication. So sometimes you'll see, like, that blue is being clouded by, like, a haziness of gray, and that person, you can interpret that as they're being blocked in what they wanna communicate right now. So it's all interpretation like that. Pink and green, heart chakra, so if there's all of that, that person is in a place of love and expansion. They're in their heart. And then it goes down into the solar plexus, which is where confidence, I am is. It's where that sense of self is. Go down into the solar... Uh, sacral chakra is orange, and that's all, like, desires, so it can be creativity, sense of satisfaction in life. That will often be what's being communicated there. And then red is the root chakra, which is anything on a foundational level. And for me as a medium and seeing people's auras, that's the most common color I'm often seeing is red. Oh, okay. Why is that? 'Cause most people are thinking about things on a very foundational level in this world. They're thinking about their job, their work, their home, money, security. It's a gift and a blessing to be able to be experiencing those higher feelings and emotions. And when you're looking at people getting about their day and working or walking through the city, it's often a lot of that, like, red energy is there 'cause they're working from that foundational level in that moment. I actually feel like I went right to the light blue, which is appropriate for me because it's the voice, and it's the... It's also just the, the calm and, and clarity of that voice- Mm ... is what I'm opening up to. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Beautiful. Clear voice. Clear voice. Yeah. Right now, do you see colors, like, visually in your mind's eye? Or what do you s- what's going on? So it, it starts out for me as, like, a haze around a person, and a lot of people would've experienced this as well, like you're watching someone do a lecture or talk in front of a white wall, and you just start to see, like, there's this haze around them- Yep ... kinda like when it's a hot day and the heat is rising off the road. It looks like that. Fuzziness. That's the first step of connecting in and seeing someone's aura, and as you do that and as you go, "Oh, I wonder what I can sense," or, "I wonder what can develop there," you start to let that picture build, and you get, like, the first impression of, uh, what's that person's predominant color. Around you, I, I really get, like, this golden yellowy ring that goes around your head, and then w- within that, closer to your head, it looks like there's green there. So it's like the heart and the head are really connected. But I think there's a lot of pink around you, too. So predominantly, I see, like, m- most of your colors would be described in that way for me, but then I can also see that, that blue that is really hovering right around your, your throat, and also around your, uh, your heart as well. So I feel like that peace that you've been feeling like you need to call in is around just, like, settling everything around the heart and returning there because everything must have been quite stimulating for you lately. For a long time. Yeah. Yeah. For 46 years. Up until now. No, it's serious. Yeah. I really feel like I'm settling in, and that's interesting 'cause that's where my cat meditates on me- Aw is right on my chest. Like right here. Sweet. Yeah, right here. Right here. Cats are so intuitive. So healing. Yeah. So healing. I talk about my cat. My cat's, uh, gets a lot of air time here on the show. Okay? So do you have a practice for welcoming the expansion of your aura? Absolutely. Okay. And us mediums, we call it going into the power. Going into the power. And that power is all within. Okay. So whenever you're going to do anything with your aura, it starts at the core. It starts at the center and it moves its way out, and that's where you can clear it from. That's where you can access it. So everyone listening right now, and us right now, we can just close our eyes and let our awareness drop down into that space in the center of our chest, into our hearts, where everyone just listening already is already starting to feel a bit of a flutter from their soul, is starting to feel that energy start to build around your chest. And visualize that energy as a pure white light, and feel it as you see it, or imagine it if you're not seeing anything, and just visualize that growing and feel the sense of I remember who I am. I am this eternal soul being. I am light that is eternal. And notice when you hear that, that starts to make that light get bigger, shine outwards, get brighter. And then as it's shining out past your shoulders, over your head, filling up the space around you, there might just be this overwhelming awareness of one particular color or one particular feeling or thought of a color. And just sense that right now and think, what does this color tell me or what does it speak to me here today, right now? And just within that, you're going to start getting an awareness of what that color means for you today, and it might not have a meaning that you thought it would have, but you already know what it is, and just trust whatever sense you get with it. And then say, "Is this something I want more of, or is this an aw- something that is bringing me an awareness that I need to let go of this color?" And you already know the answer to that as well. And if it's something you wanna bring in more of, visualize you're, like, amping it up on a dial. You're turning it up, and you're feeling all of that beautiful energy get stronger. And if it's something that you'd rather let go of, just see that starting to get sucked up within that white light and starting to transmute, and feel yourself alleviating from it. You don't kn- need to know what it was or what it meant. You probably already do, but just see it being released, see it being let go of, and see your aura feel, sense your aura being filled up with more beautiful colors, ones that make you feel something good within you. And start with one, and I'm gonna teach you how to find and sense the others very, very soon So there we go Oh, so nice. You like that? Okay. So I saw light blue- Mm ... and it gave me this energy of it's supposed to be calm and cool. Yeah. And of course, that was something I want more of, so I was just letting it expand. Beautiful. That's perfect, and see, someone might go, "Oh, I feel blue. Oh, I'm carrying a bit of sadness," 'cause that blue might be felt in a different way, but that blue can then also be felt in this, like calmness, this peace, this tranquility which is so true as well. So you need to trust your intuition in, in what it tells you then and there, rather than go by any kind of a framework. Trust your intuition of what you're feeling when you s- experience that energy. So in that practice, I mentioned I saw the blue, and I wonder if people... Whatever you saw in that first practice, Sean's gonna give us another one at the end, but whatever you saw in that first practice of opening up to your aura, leave a comment below, 'cause I wanna hear from you guys, and I'm gonna welcome you to come into the comments. So leave your aura color in the comments. Sean and I are gonna go in there, and Sean's gonna give you a little tip. You start to notice these colors ar- w- uh, for yourself. Maybe do you see them in your meditation? Yeah. I would say in meditation it's a bit more internal, so the colors and the awareness is there. There is a specific meditation I'm gonna share at the end which is really about learning to activate that clairvoyant vision and start to actually s- physically see those colors build around you. How do you read someone else's aura? When we close our eyes and we open them again and again, what happens is we feel like this shift when we close our eyes, moving slightly, like upwards and back an inch. Can you feel that movement when you close your eyes? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. It's like it just goes slightly up and back. That's our predominant sense of vision being closed off and our brain starting to move to our secondary source of vision, which is the third eye. So if we can do that and we notice that shift, we keep our focus there, and then we open our eyes with, like, a really soft gaze while trying to hold your attention in that place. And then I like to start by just looking at a person's shoulder and trying to find that haziness, and you've really gotta trust it. Like, your mind is gonna go, "Am I just making that up? Am I just making that up?" But if there's any sense of, "Ooh, I wonder if I'm seeing something there," trust it, and that's what's gonna allow it to get stronger. And then as that haziness grows, use your peripheral to just get a sense of a color first or an awareness of a color, and then it might start to build, and you might start to get a glimpse of it around, around me. Pink around you. Right. Love that. Yeah. Pink. Pink. Like light pink. That's... I've been feeling a lot of that today as well. Uh, and then let that pink fill up the entire space as fully as you feel it, and then notice if there's, like, any other colors sitting in different places or even emitting from, from me. The gold around- On your head, I see Yes, and that's the haziness starting to get a little bit more clear for you, so trust that. And it's really important to validate yourself with what you're seeing. Mm-hmm. Don't doubt it. Trust it. So repeat it over again and get that picture a little bit clearer. You can see all the pink. You can see that goldy white starting to emit from that space. It's very subtle for me though. It's not like I see- It- a real color. It's like a s- it's like a sense of color, and then I can kinda see the color. It... That's exactly what it's like. Okay. It's always subtle, and it's always about trusting in the super subtle impressions. And as you trust them, they get stronger and stronger. And then you could just see if there's anything else. Like, is your atten- does your attention go to any other space around me, anything emitting from me? Um- Um, okay, so can I go for it? Go for it. Um, you're extremely at peace, and there's creative energy all around you. Mm-hmm. Um, you're happy. Yeah. You're happy, and you're, you're w- you're really cracking open to new things right now. You can say that again. Yeah, you're cracking open to new things, uh, that are big. Yeah. Big things, big, big, uh, advancements in your life, and growth, and expansion, and higher consciousness- Mm-hmm ... and higher service and commitment to the work that you're meant to do. This is a whole other way of channeling 'cause it's like I'm now, like, r- really f- s- sensing the energy. It's really direct, isn't it? It's super direct and reading the energy, not just the person, right? Yeah. And so the energy, it just, it just f- it feels very, very good. Mm. Doesn't feel like there's any heaviness or darkness or weightiness. It's also quite grounded. Mm. And even though you've been traveling and you've had sort of the jet lag, you're still very in your body- Yeah but also really preparing to psychically open up in a big way. That's so true. Just yesterday, for the first time, I went and s- sat, like, for an hour outside, feet on the grass, and I'm like, "Oh, finally," so absolutely. You're grounded. You're back in your body. Yeah. Yeah, you're, you're here. You've landed. It's almost like you had to get from LA to here to get grounded and landed. Mm-hmm. And then, and then there's just, like, this big spark of evolution that's coming. It's, like, it's, like, huge, uh, up-leveling of your consciousness and your purpose, uh, in this, like, next few months. Love that. Thank you I just got a full reading based on the aura. That was sick So good, and- So cool ... so, so accurate What was interesting about that for me is I didn't really feel like I was totally channeling guides. I feel like I was just channeling your energy- Yeah ... which is very new for me. Yeah. I've never done that before. You can go from, you can bounce between, so it's like, "Oh, this is my perspective. This is- Yeah ... direct. I can understand things." And, like, sometimes there'll be, like, symbols show up. Like when I was looking at yours, that gold band over your head- Yeah was turning into, like, this figure eight. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it looked- That's funny, I always get the infinity symbol ... yeah, it was like it's literally- My fingers will do it. It'll go like that. Through- Yeah ... it's literally through your heart up to here, and then over your head, and that I, I saw that as you were channeling. Yeah. So it's like that's the transmission point for you. It's through the heart here and above. Hm. Uh, but there's so much, and, like, so many symbols that might show up, and so much awareness, and you can get really specific information through, like, you go, "Oh, there's a blue blob on your shoulder." Hm. And then you get so much information from it. It was, like, such effortless information from the colors. Yeah. That was so cool. So easy. And it's best if you can do it in, like, low lighting. Low lighting. So if you have, like, a salt lamp or something- Yeah ... you go into a dimly lit room. The colors are gonna be more vibrant. That makes sense. Yeah. That makes sense. Now we have this m- skill, and I wanna just recap the points really quickly. So you shut your eyes and you feel that movement upwards, backwards an inch to the center of your forehead. And then once you've got a feel for it, try and hold that attention in that place, and then slow- softly open your eyes with a gentle gaze, like you're kind of blurring your eyes a little bit. Pink. It's all there. And that pink is that heart energy and that vibrant. Hm. And I'm having a lot of fun. Mm-hmm. So I'm not surprised it's all pink right now. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Uh, but then you look for that haze, look for that slight little movement of fuzziness, and let it build from there. Yeah. Let that predominant color go, and then find the little bits within that or the little glows, the smaller bits, 'cause there's a lot of information within them. And my guides are saying, and you said this too, trust it. Mm-hmm. Trust what you see. Trust what you hear. That's why I want you to practice this with a spiritual running buddy that believes in you and that you believe in them, that you have the same connection. If you don't have that person in your life, could somebody practice reading an aura of, like, a movie star on a screen or something like that? Or is that hard? For sure. Yeah. And it is one of those things where people can just observe others, and they can just play around with it- Yeah ... and they can just see what's going on. And it's not just people that have auras. Animals- Animals. Yes, do it with your animals ... pets, trees. Yes. Trees have an aura. And you can get the personality of trees. Anything alive. Anything that's living. Has an aura. It's because it gives us a broader perspective of what we're carrying and what is within our field. Because as beings with an ego, we trick ourselves into believing that, you know, everything's bad or everything's good or everything is... You know, we don't get that clarity from our own perspective. So if we can zoom out and look at our energy and look what we're carrying, it can kind of be a bit of like a, a deeper sense of awareness and a communication to ourself that is so beneficial. It's like how we can do a personal vibe check on ourselves, you know? Can... Yes, a personal vibe check on ourselves. Excellent. Yeah. Can we call in a color of the aura? Can we, uh, uh, visualize through meditation and amplify a certain color that feels like it's necessary? Totally. You can use it like a canvas. Okay. And your intuition will also tell you, "Oh, I'm carrying this, like, cloudiness around this, this area right here. I feel like pink is what is needed today to clear that," or, "Pink is what's gonna lead me to where I want to be personally." And you can invite that in and visualize it all coming in and it will be there. You know? Yeah. As soon as you believe it is done, it is done. Love it. A lot of the people that come to this show are coming to learn, but they're also coming to heal themselves- Yeah and to experience these tools for their own personal development and growth. I believe that having a practice to consciously choose the auric colors of our field that day is kind of like, how do I want to dress today? Yeah. Yeah? Exactly. And it's so much fun, and people get caught up in their head so much when they're trying to learn to interpret energy and get a feel for it, but this way is so fun and enjoyable and it's so not pressured that it really helps people to trust and expand into it, and just- Do it with ease. Mm. Mm-hmm. Now, I've had experiences, particularly when I'm on stage, where I feel like my aura's expanding way beyond the stage. Mm. All the way out, you know, stage left, stage right, way beyond all those, all the way out to the street. Like, it feels sort of infinite. Yeah. But particularly at least within the realm of the theater. Has that happened for you? Yeah. Yeah. It's like you're hold- you're starting to hold everyone within that space or welcome everyone- That's right ... in. And b- with my hands, I'm, like, holding that energy. So- Yeah ... if people have that experience of their hands kind of going numb or when they meditate, their hands go up, is that them holding their own aura or sort of sensing into the auras of others? What's happening in that moment? It's like that expansiveness is being felt physically. Got it. So you're starting to just feel everything get bigger, and that's your aura, and your field of energy just starting to really go out when you're feeling like, "I'm on top of the world right now." Mm. Or, "I feel amazing right now," that's when that happens naturally. So people will often do it without even realizing that they're doing it. What does it mean when someone has a mix of aura colors rather than just one color? So everyone has, like, a predominant color which they tend to be. Okay. And they tend to, like, whenever someone connects into them who can see auras, it tends to be this one color that is repetitive, but there's other colors that kind of show up in smaller ways which are more representative of what we are feeling and going through right now. So when I'm looking at a person's aura, and this is a, a way that many people might respond to well because we read left to right. So the way I've learnt to interpret auras is what shows up on the left-hand side of a person is what they've recently been going through or the energy that has been around them in the recent time, and then on the other side, it starts to show up as what's coming to them now or what they're moving towards. So it's really like this art of interpretation and learning your own language. So our brains won't show auras- To us the same way other people will see them because we're filtering information in a way that makes sense to us. So other people might see something a little bit different or in a different place, and it will mean the same thing, but that will be their way of understanding it. So yeah. When you say we, we see auras left to right, who's the we? Oh, it's funny I say that, isn't it? You mean you and your guides? Yeah. Yeah. I think so. Yeah, that's how I heard it. Yeah, yeah. So your y- similar like I might be reading an aura, an energy of an aura- Yeah ... not necessarily the color of the aura. Uh, so the aura and the energetic field we discussed, that is the same thing. The energy field is like the, a glass, and the aura is like the water within the glass. Cool. Mm. Really helpful. Yeah. And our energy field can be opened up for higher purposes or for- Absolutely ... when we want to communicate something or- Yeah connect or, um, be intimate or whatever it might be. Yeah. Or be creative. Mm-hmm. And we can consciously close our energy field to be more protective or insular if we're getting on the subway or whatever it is. Yeah. Yeah, okay. Exactly. Yeah. And, yeah, that expansive place, that's like where you want to be when you want to be connected with spirit, where you want closeness with God consciousness, angels, guides. That's where you need to be for that. But we can't be in that... We can't be holding that all the time, and we need space to be in our human and to let ourselves rest as well. Especially if we're going through something or grieving or in a difficult time, that's naturally gonna come a lot closer, and the energy is gonna be more protective and less open, less connected in those moments. And when we open up energetically, we also have to know how to close consciously. Mm-hmm. So I'd love to give everyone the practice of closing consciously. How do we close our energy field? And would you even say close your aura or, or, or protect your aura? How would you s- describe that? Well, I think we keep it open through curiosity most of the time. So often it's like, "Oh, I, I wanna know more," or, "I wanna stay there," on some subconscious level. So it's really about making the decision to, okay, that was the time and place to do that, and now this is the time to bring it back- Yeah ... and to close off and to- It's a conscious choice. It's a decision. That's exactly how I work. Yeah. And so I'm gonna get on stage, and I decide. I meditate. I prepare my energy. I open my ch- my, my chakras. I open my energy field. I let my aura swim the, like the water. Yeah. And I get on stage. Then when I get off the stage, I will consciously close my cloak and say, "Party's over." Time's up. Time's up. See you tomorrow. See you tomorrow. See you next week. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. That's beautiful. Yeah, it's just that decision, and if anyone finds themselves like, "Oh, I can't close down. I can't do it," part of them is wanting to remain open, even if it's not consciously. They're subconsciously wanting to understand it more. They're still curious about it. They want more of it. And they need to find that part of themselves and have a time and place for it so that curiosity doesn't keep on opening them up in a way which is draining them. Yeah. Yeah. So it's conscious. It's choice. It's decision. It's... and it's, it's protection. Exactly. If someone feels like they've picked up the low vibrational energy of someone else- Mm how do they clear it? It's another thing similar to that. It's like if people find themselves wanting to... If they're, like, the type of person which is like, "I wanna do everything for you. I would rather your burden be mine," they're going to literally take on their energies. And some really, like, healers often are like that. Like, they see a, a bird with broken wings, and they want to nurture it, and they wanna take on that pain as their own. So if people are finding that as a pattern, uh, they need to realize that they can only help people to an extent before they're taking on those energies and those problems for themselves, 'cause it can get... That's what can lead people to burn out. And if people need a bit of an extra kick, a bit of a extra push to clear their aura, nature is really, like... I know it's such a cliche. We're, like, we're a part of nature, and we forget that, and when our energy starts to be depleted, it's because we've been, like, existing within four walls with technology for too long. And as soon as we step back into nature, and our body goes, "Oh, this is home. This is true home for me. This is where I'm meant to be," our field clears. It expands. Even sitting by water can just clear our energy so easily and effortlessly, nature is where it's at. I- two mediums in the last week have said to me, get, get, get nature- Yeah 'cause that's how you're gonna clear your energy. Yeah. Walking through trees, they're literally taking o- they take on carbon dioxide, they send out oxygen. They're doing the same thing with negative energy. They're taking on the heaviness and blessing us. It's, you know, nature is just so intelligent. Yeah. And that's what we can use if we need an extra, some extra help. Can auras blend? Oh, for sure. Okay, tell me about that. As an energetically sensitive person, you've probably been in this place where someone's really close to you, like when you're getting your hair done, and the hairdresser's like leaning over you. They're really close. Yes. You feel everything. Yes. And that's your energies overlaying each other, and sometimes it can cause like an anxious reaction, or you might not feel anxious, but your body responds like you're anxious. And that's because you're picking up on what's in their aura, in their field. So if you are in that place of maybe going through a depression or going through a mental illness, be very mindful of your energy and your aura. Yeah. And be mindful of the capacity to blend- Yeah ... so that it... 'Cause blending could be a good thing if you're falling in love or- Yeah ... I would imagine, right? Yeah. We do this work, we're opening up. You may feel a lot of energy come through after the practice that we're about to do with Sean. And if you do feel like you're flying away or you're n- ungrounded, go into the bush, go into the forest. Go into the grass. Go hug a tree. Get your feet in the dirt. Walk on the beach. Get grounded with nature. That's gonna be the quickest way to clear your energy and return back into your body. We have to have the practices of knowing how to open up, but also how to shut it down, and to be in that clear decision-making. We can decide that we open up, and we can decide that we're gonna shut it down. This is something I wanna make sure that we're constantly instilling in this audience, because you're not coming here just for some mindless cracking open. Y- I want you all to stay in your bodies, be humans, having your human experience, and be able to open up when it's safe, when you wanna do creative projects, when you wanna help somebody, when you wanna serve, when you want to open up to, to be an inspiration, and when you wanna feel in your meditation in a safe environment, and when you go into your home in the morning and you're with your family. But then when you gotta get on that subway or you get in the car and you're driving, shut that down, people. Not the time. It's not the time- ... my friends. So Sean is gonna lead us now into a meditation to sense our own aura. We had a little taste of this at the beginning. We're gonna go deeper to sense our own aura and what it's telling us right now. All right. So for everyone listening at home right now, if you are not driving or anything like that, what is going to make this the best experience for you is if you can go and sit in front of a mirror and dim the lights a little bit. Pull the curtains across, make sure there's a little bit of light coming through, but nothing that's going to be too blinding or in your face. And then just sit for a few moments. Shut down your eyes first of all, and start to take a few deep breaths into your core, settling down and just clearing your mind of any expectation or any thought of what is going to happen or expectation of what you might see. Just be completely open and receptive and trusting in this moment that even if you don't feel, sense, or aware of anything, you're gonna make it up and it's going to be true, and you're going to find truth and meaning within it. So take another deep breath And release and start to feel all of that mental chatter sinking down, moving downwards into the experience of your energy. And notice how your attention from where your eyes was has moved into that space a little bit further back and upward. And if you haven't found it yet, just flash your eyes open again, look down at the floor, shut them, feel that shift going back into that place in the center, and hold your focus there Now release all thoughts outside of this present moment right now and just start to notice how your energy feels today And just within that, a color already dropped into your mind. Whether you heard it, whether you sensed it or not, something is being communicated to you right now in this moment, so just go with the feeling of that right now. And notice if it's something that you want more of or something that you would like to shift in this exercise. And softly open your eyes and gaze at your energy over your shoulders, looking for that haze, and starting to find that color or finding that feeling within the space around you. And if you're doing something right now where you can't be in front of the mirror or can't be in that, just trust what comes up, and you can do this in a more aware state as well But looking at yourself, looking into the mirror, start to feel, sense those colors developing, getting stronger. And if you're not seeing anything, imagine that you are. Imagine that you are seeing something, and it will be there So whatever this color is, whatever this feeling is notice what does this tell me about my energy today? A message is coming to you within that. Trust the first thing that you get And then start to allow that image to build more and get stronger and more vibrant and more intricate as well. Imagine or look and see that there are other colors that are emanating from you in your field, some that feel really bright and light and happy, maybe some others that feel like heavy, like there's weight within them And notice how within all that you're experiencing right now, at the core of you, your soul is trying to communicate to you, trying to open you up to your potential, trying to open you up to what is possible for you right now in this moment, and trying to bring you back to itself. And this is the part of you at the core of your being which has the power to shift and invite in any lightness, brightness, beautiful color that you feel right now is meant for you today And just imagine as it is happening, it is already done. That intelligence is starting to take over. And within that thought, there are so many thoughts in the back of your mind and throughout your energy that are telling you so much and giving you so many messages right now, and so much awareness. And even if you don't know what they are yet, just trust that you are receiving them, and they will reveal themselves as they're meant to And now look at your aura again and notice how all of those beautiful colors are getting brighter. All that heaviness is being released, transmuted And feel the blessing of this energy within you Let it bring a smile to your face. Let it radiate outward from you And imagine like all of this color is literally lifting you up, like you feel like you're rising up upwards, outwards into this expansiveness And see if your guides have one final message as they step into this expansive bubble of energy with you. And what is one thing that they want you to know that they want to send you onwards for your day today with? You've already received it And you can put your hands over your heart And just visualize all of that energy starting to move back towards you and feel that color intensifying as it does And when you come back, you're gonna be just ready to move from this point onwards emanating with that color in its most beautiful expression bringing you all that it needs to bring you until you need to return to this again and work with a new color And you can open your eyes when you're ready and come back I saw oranges this time Orange? Yeah. Oranges Maybe that's also why you needed to- Well, I had to wear this today. Yeah. And you were wearing the blue. Exactly. I told you, you gotta wear the blue. Yeah. Calm, cool. Yeah. See? So many messages come in without you even aware of what they are. Yeah. Yeah. You can use this while you're dressing. Exactly. How do I wanna feel today? And then visualize, do the meditation- Yeah ... and then get dressed. And people can even do it, like, a little speed version. Yeah. You can do that in 30 seconds as you're putting your clothes... "Oh, don't want any of that color today. Let's go. Oh, bright pink. That's my vibe for today. Let's go." Yeah. "It's filling me up. I'm ready." Yes. Yes. So you don't always have to take that time to do it, but if you wanna be in the experience of it, uh, sometimes that slower pace can really help you to receive so much more from it. Definitely. Mm.
