The highlight of my summer (so far)

My summer began with a series of retreats and live events. I kicked off retreat season with a debut appearance at Wanderlust Festival in Vermont. As a new yoga teacher it was an honor to be invited to share my work with the Wanderlust community of hardcore yogis.

As I drove up the mountain toward the festival entrance, I felt a rush of energy pass through my body. It was a familiar experience–the same feeling I had each summer as I arrived at sleepaway camp. Throughout my whole life Iโ€™ve gotten high off large-scale gatherings of like-minded people. Wanderlust was my new camp!

The next morning I journeyed into the main festival tent to get mic’d for my talk. I felt the energy of the community as hundreds of high-vibe yogis entered into the space. I hit the stage and a power greater than me took over before I even said a word. That lecture was the highlight of my summer (so far), and Iโ€™m psyched to share it with you.

  2. Hi Gaby!

Thanks so much for this talk; it really landed, just when i needed it.

  4. Gabby,
This is beautiful! Thank you for continuing to share your knowledge & light. You have forever changed my life.
    XO

  5. Wow…thank you for sharing this special time with all of us. Feel like I’ve had a little Wanderlust vacation. Must have been an amazing festival/conference. This is the first full-length lecture I’ve seen from you, and it was wonderful.

When you get a chance, Gaby, look back at the video at your face in meditation (they got a closeup)…the grace and peace on your face showed what was in your heart..it was amazing, perhaps what we all hope our mediations will bring to us and share with the world.

  6. These are exactly the types of experiences I feel I can have if I keep up the amazing guidance I’ve been feeling and following lately. They look amazing, and I bet they feel even better.
    Sat nam, Gabby <3

  7. Thanks for your beautiful energy. Participated in the meditations and felt like I was in the room. What a wonderful way to start the week. Kundalini helped heal me emotionally after getting cancer at 27 and I’m eternally grateful for this sacred method. Sat nam

  8. This was absolutely beautiful and inspiring. You shine through with your authenticity and boldness. I loved all the parts that you bring to awareness how the ego controls our lives. Sharing the 5 sutras was great but your examples made them powerful and meaningful. Thanks for sharing, so uplifting!!!

  9. This lecture was amazing. Thank you for sharing Gabby. I’ve been hearing the call to explore yoga training for a while, and you’re giving me that push that I need to actually go forward with it. <3

  10. I am on a solo journey in Italy right now and although I know I’m not “alone”, there are those moments where I have felt it. This really brought me back to center and helped me release even more of what I’ve on this journey to do. I’ve gone to Kundalini yoga once at Golden Bridge in LA, and I just didn’t groove with it. However, after watching this, I just might try it again. Thank you! Fellow SU Drama alum. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  11. Thank you for sharing this Gabby! It was perfect timing for me today. Could you share the artist and song from the meditation for irrationality? (right before FATM?). I’ve been searching for it since Kripalu and was so happy to hear it again!
    xoxo

  12. Gabby, I haven’t had a chance to see you speak and do your thing (I have only read your books), but I have had friends attend workshops and they have been very moved. I have been activated into full light worker mode. I keep getting blessings and gifts to share with people and honestly I keep coming back to your work because it is inspiring me to take spirituality Mainstream and hit the road. The way you have paved the path for the rest of us light workers to bring spirituality mainstream through yoga, mantra, meditation has been very inspirational. It has inspired me to think about how I can get in rooms of hundreds of people and help them wake up so that They can start living their dreams. Do you do one-on-one sessions to help light workers further their path?

  13. Thank you so much for your inspiring words. Because of a seminar you gave I attended at Golden Bridge a few months ago, I am now studying to be a Kundalini teacher! xo

  16. Hi Gabby,

I just wanted to say thank you for sharing this. The effect it had on me was a bit of a sneak attack, in a good way. An overwhelming amount tears and expansion came over me. I started practicing Kundalini Yoga around 1998-1999 with Gurumukh and Gurushbad at the very first Golden Bridge. Had dinner at their home every Sunday and sat at Yogi Bhajan’s feet for many classes while he was still in this world; and also got to have a couple one on ones with him. I was also blessed to do seva for him by preparing his food, and the home he stayed at while he was here in LA. I was deeply devoted to my practice and my Golden Bridge family. In our one-on-one, Yogi Bhajan assigned to me my Yogi name and was quite stern with me regarding the purpose and responsibility it carried. Around 2005 I began venturing into other avenues of spiritual knowledge and practices; and while I didn’t mean to slip way from my Kundalini practice, it is what happen. Now, all these years later, and so so many experiences later, I have been wanting to get back into it. The teacher’s training was very much on the forefront of my mind back then, but the timing never seemed to align.. I was in art school at the time getting my BFA and newly married. There has been so many chapters between then and now in my spiritual journey and I have come back around to the desire to return to my practice and to also do teachers training. While now the timing would very much align, really there is nothing holding me back except for me, I have yet to return to the practice..with the exception of NYE this past year. That was my first time in there in all these years, but haven’t returned since. I’m not typically dominated by fear in any area of my life, but this step just seems to be getting the best of me. It won’t just be going to yoga for me, it will carry with it so much more, including lots of emotion. Everything you covered in this lecture and the mediation you incorporated spoke to every inch of this area of my life. “Start, and the pressure is off”. Indeed. So I am saying publicly, I will be getting my ass back into Golden Bridge…somehow, and trust that I will be supported in all that will open up as a result. Sooooo thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

    Lots of Love x

  22. Hi Gabby,
I was at the bank today and had a situation like the one you describe in this talk. The bank attender was a bit mean and not helping me at all. Besides it was in German (I live in Berlin) and so it sounded really ugly. Before engaging into a fight I made a pause, took a breath and tears started to come out of my eyes. I was feeling really bad with the abusive attitude, but decided not to react but to find another way to handle this. A minute later the lady came and said that actually she had found a way to solve my problem. I was perplex to see she had changed so radically just by seeing that in stead of reacting against her I had made a pause. Your story and attitude inspired me. Keep shining!

    Thank you,

    Rakel

  23. Thank you so much Gabby for sharing this. I found you a little over a year ago when I desperately needed guidance and you continue to guide me to stay connected to my light. I am inspired to teach after watching this and cannot thank you enough for inspiring me.

  24. So freakin’ good it needs a new word…Kundalini-gabby-licious! Also LOVED your modern soundtrack. I teach kids and teens meditation and spirituality at a new thought center and feel they would connect to these songs in their practice. Could you please share your playlist for the event so we can all purchase some musical love? Thank you! You rock!

  25. Hey Gabby,
I have never posted a comment on anything before (deep breath). I just wanted to say a big thank you, watching the lecture inspired and moved me. I have only recently found you, and feel lucky to have done so.
Thank you. And also, can you please share the song names from the meditations if possible?
    Thank you once again,
    Love from Brooke

  26. Thank you Gabby. That was AWEsome!! I was feeling a little low and your simple generosity set me right again. God speed.

  27. You are REALLY a great inspiration! Thank you so much for this video and thank you for being you! ๐Ÿ™‚
    Love, Angelique

  28. I am on my journey of change and I am so glad I have found your work. You are a inspiration to everyone. Thank you for sharing wanderlust really enjoyed watching and learning new tools

  29. Hi Gabby! I’ve been following your wok for about a year now. I am a vegan teen following a daily practice of yoga and meditation. In your talk you urge us to follow the call to teach. I constantly feel this call, but because of my age I’m not sure what I can do. I already give my friends tips and I’ve even invited some of them to practice yoga with me before, but I feel I could be doing even more. Do you have any suggestions?

  30. The last meditate rocked my world just now – tears of joy flooding down my face when we were ‘shakin it’ – the first time I’ve truly felt how powerful I am inside. I felt so connected and so moved – vibing with the cosmos most def. THANK YOU GABBY! Now, where can I download this set of songs to do this as much as possible!!

  31. Wow! I actually cried while doing the meditation when you shake your hands above your head… I have never tried anything like it and it felt like a glowing energy shot up through me… I never felt that. So amazing! Thank you
    Xoxox Noelle

    1. Noelle, I had the same experience! I want to put those three songs together to do it like…EVERYDAY. I felt amazing. I feel like I was there, and after reading your comments it’s so cool to hear you had the same experience. ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Yes! I have been re watching it as well. At first I was looking over at my husband to see if he was watching me lol but then I just let ego go.. Right ;-). That’s when the magic happens! ๐Ÿ™‚

  32. So thankful for this!! I have watched it many times and it was awakened me to Kundalini Yoga – much love!!!! x

  33. Love this, have been doing the meditations every day but can someone tell me if it’s ok to do ego eradicator and then straight into the last one where you sit in stillness then shake it out? I do get a bit dizzy from it all but wondered if maybe they need to be kept separate. There are so many great back pack meditations but I don’t know if they can be done together.

  34. Oh my freakin God!! This is so powerful, I loved, loved, loved it! Well done, what an inspiring event. I am coming to see you in London in December and I cannot wait! I discovered you and your work in June 2012 and have learned so much since then, and I am excited to learn even more ๐Ÿ™‚

  35. Gabby!!! Thank you so much for sharing. This was amazing. I was crying on the bus watching the last meditation when you were shaking it out! I was overwhelmed!

Thank you so much for being a guide. Your books, videos and lectures are what keep me on track and keep that ego away. I love you!

  36. Thankyou so much for sharing this video, I’ve started using these meditations every morning and it’s making such a huge difference! What songs did you use for each of the meditations? Big love as always xx

  37. Hi Gabby! i must say that it was so amazing to watch this and be “shaking off” to the meditation in my room…who knew it felt so good :)… i will be doing it more when im feeling overwhelmed. Thank you so much for your love and light and for continuing to inspire us teachers. <3!

  38. Wow.

I joined in from my office!

and what led me here? the number 11:11. Saw it flashing on my monitor, remembered the title of your post I hadn’t read yet. Watched your clip on that, then this.

After it was all over (tears and clarity and shaking it out and what not), guess what shows right up when I open Yogi Bhajan’s app on my phone?

“Vibrate the Cosmos. The Cosmos shall clear the path.”

    Yes yes and yes.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. x

  39. Awesome! Thank you for sharing! I wish had watched this video and done the meditations weeks ago – when it first landed in my in box. But practicing self compassion for myself, I’m grateful I finally watched, listened, and woke up, when I did. Thank you for shinning your light in my life and teaching me how to shine my light in the lives of others.

  40. gabby, thank u thank u thank u!!!! this was the video i was looking for, not sure if i somehow passed it or it is back up thank you so very much!!!!!

  41. Since I received this e-mail, I have put off watching it. Putting it off, putting if off, putting it off. Today, I jumped out of the bed and finally watched this video. Thank you so much for sharing this. I watched it finally today because my spirit was ready to receive this. I definitely has a break through. I am so grateful for your wisdom and guidance. You are beautiful and a beacon of light. Xo
