During this special time, on the cusp of a new year, I’m filled with gratitude and hope.
In this post I’m sharing some of my favorite prayers and practices for peace. As you cultivate a sense of inner peace, you’ll also be serving the world!
Cultivating peace
Your energetic shift toward peace, and your prayer for others to feel peace, is more powerful than you know.
Deep within our own awareness we have a direct line to the unified field of energy. It’s through prayer, meditation, positive intentions and joy that we can enliven that field and create a ripple effect of peace in the world.
You have the power to be a spiritual activist. Through your positive energy you can bring forth great healing to everyone around you. Let us fill the world with light by spreading peaceful, loving energy!
6 spiritual practices and prayers for peace
1. Prayer of St. Francis
2. Prayer from Peace Is the Way by Deepak Chopra
In his book Peace Is the Way, Deepak says: “Take a few moments of silence, then repeat this ancient prayer.”
3. EFT Tapping for peace with Brad Yates
Brad Yates is a wonderful teacher of Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT, aka tapping). He has a YouTube channel filled with incredible tapping videos. I love this short practice because it’s all about being peace!
As Brad says at the beginning of the video, “Let there be peace on Earth, and let it begin with me.”
4. Lesson 188 of A Course in Miracles
First I want to share an excerpt from Lesson 188 of A Course in Miracles, which accompanies the prayer below. Read the words carefully and allow them to settle over you…
The peace of God is shining in you now, and from your heart extends around the world. It pauses to caress each living thing, and leaves a blessing with it that remains forever and forever. What it gives must be eternal. It removes all thoughts of the ephemeral and valueless. It brings renewal to all tired hearts, and lights all vision as it passes by.

5. Loving-kindness meditation by Sharon Salzberg
Sharon Salzberg is a prolific meditation teacher and author. In this video she leads a loving-kindness meditation, a type of Buddhist meditation in which you extend loving thoughts to yourself and others.
I queued up the video for the start of the meditation, around 18:38. (If you’d like to hear Sharon’s talk, you can just go to the start of the video.)
6. Prayer for the World, by Marianne Williamson
Spirit Junkies, I hope you enjoy these prayers and spiritual practices for peace. Use them yourself and share them far and wide to be a messenger of peace!
