I’ve learned that the world only wants one thing from us: our authentic truth. Throughout my life, the more ME I’ve become, the more powerful I am. Today’s vlog speaks to the power of sharing your authenticity with the world. My message today is to BE MORE REAL, and honor the truth in all.

  1. This is such a great topic. It is so refreshing to hear as well. I feel that people are so caught up in ego that they forget the magic of their true selves. They are so afraid of what people are going to think. It is sad that we are conditioned to hide our true selves. Beautiful message. This confirmed a lot of what I was reflecting on last week with my writing and next steps. It is important that we are all unapologetically and authentically our true selves. I too had the blessing to see Marianne on Friday in MI. She was amazing as always.

  2. “If you’re weird and silly, act weird and silly.”

Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚ I definitely see myself as a weird and silly person, but only those closest to me really get to see that. A long-standing fear of judgement usually holds me back from being silly around others. Instead, I think I have to ‘be cool’. Well, no more!

I also hear lots of people asking what makes certain people successful, and wondering how they can set themselves apart from others. The answer I always think of is, as you said, be yourself! I just need to take my own advice ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Rebecca,
I loved reading your thoughts on this! I am definitely “weird and silly” too and this video is exactly what I needed to hear today. For so long, I thought I needed to be more serious and “cool” for people to appreciate me. I now realize that those kind of people are not who I want to spend my energy on. The people that appreciate me for being who I really am are the ones that I am meant to connect with. If I want to laugh out loud at work, or sing to myself while walking through town, I should just freaking do it and not feel self conscious! ๐Ÿ™‚ Life is too short to be so serious.
Thank you for an awesome video, Gabby!

  3. Hi Gabby, thanks for the message! I came to know of Marianne Williamson through you and was also at the Sister Giant talk yesterday. You have both taught me so much and I am so grateful to have been turned onto – and participate in – all of the work you and she are doing.

  4. Thanks for this VLOG on being “real” I couldn’t agree with you more. People want to see you. I even mentioned this point in a recent Chat interview I had, last Friday. I was talking about my writing, how I believe in the concept of “real-life” books. Telling people your story.

  5. Thank you for being real and genuinely caring about your viewers/fans. You generously give of your time every week to vlog your spiritual insights and life lessons. I’ve purchased every book and audio you’ve sold, but your (free) weekly vlog solidifies and validates the truth you teach in your books. I am so thankful Oprah has discovered you and, actually, have prayed she would. You deserve all good things the universe has to offer. God bless!!!!!!

    1. Angela,
      I read your comment a couple hours ago and it has been weighing on me so much that I had to come back and tell you;

If you do not know who your personality is then start with who you are spiritually.
You are a child of the Universe.
You are a perfect manifestation in physical form.
      You are energy.
      You are a prayer.
      You are a poem.
      You are a gift.

Start with this knowing and who you are as a personality will come to you in time.

Lots of love to you from Kingston, Jamaica.

  6. Thank you for this great vlog! I am finding my voice in my work, my writing and sharing, and on each blog post I get to uncover more layers and show my true self to the world. It is an exciting journey to live your truth and share it with others! I love it!
Besos and congrats for the Super Soul Sunday!

  7. I love this! Receiving this message and vlog came at a perfect time for me. I am currently taking part in a coaching program called 40 Days and Nights and just last week I defined my 3 life values, and one of them was Integrity/Authenticity. I’m now more focused and aware on making it a priority to be more of myself, and more importantly, to actually speak this truth to the people in my life without holding back because I am afraid how others will respond . . . especially when it comes to dating and my romantic relationships. It feels great and I can tell it’s only going to get better from here.

  8. I wouldn’t really know what else or who else to be but the real me! I guess that’s why authenticity is one of my top values in life.
Congrats, love SSS and can’t wait to watch you all on there come November ๐Ÿ˜‰

  9. Damn Gabby – what an awesome video!!

I keep tapping into this authentic space more and more. The more I do it, the easier it becomes.

I’m sharing this with some friends who will def like this message ๐Ÿ™‚

    Keep rockin’ !!

p.s. been doing 11-min daily meditation since beginning of the month ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Gabby,

You never cease to amaze. Thank you for this incredibly powerful vlog. And, Congratulations on the Oprah gig ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m glad that many more people can be exposed to your beautiful message… Keep kickin’ ass!

  11. Heey, Love today’s topic – I am being shown my true path more and more and am being invited to be authentically me more and more, for which it is not just me that is so grateful – it is all of the people and HORSE’S lives who I am blessed to touch! Thank you x

  12. Wow! You blow me away every time! I came across you in an article about you in my chiropractors office about a year ago; someone had forgotten an American issue of Marie Clarie. A strike of destiny I think? And have been โ€“ingรญng up my life ever since. Thank you so much for lots of inspiration in my life. Lots of love from Norway?

  13. I totally agree! My advice to all of my friends is always “You do you”. Be you and be true, because that is the best you can be ๐Ÿ™‚ xox

  14. YES! soooo true!!! I’ve noticed that the more I am myself and the more I am my authentic truth in all areas of my life, the better things work out! I can specially vouch for that during a recent intense job hunt. The more I was myself, the more natural it all felt, and in the end, I got 3 job offers!! That’s just 1 example. I know there are others, and there will be others to come. i.e. relationships.
This song often comes to mind when I focus on being real:
    (“Be Yourself” by Audioslave)

  15. Gabby, this was just what I needed to hear today. You see I was a little upset yesterday. I spent a day and a half working on the ‘about me’/first entry into a new blog that I am starting up and I somehow lost the whole thing. I was so mad that I had lost all my hard work, but upon reflection, I think it was a message telling me that I needed to tune into my own personality more in order to tell my own story. So, i am starting again with what you are saying in mind and my story is just flowing… so much so, that I have to comment here. Thank you, thank you, thank you Gabby. Love your wisdom and love everything you do ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. Thanks, Gabby! You are so right! I got my current job because they liked not only my skill set but also they said they liked my personality the most out of all the canditates! And I felt like I was really being my authentic self through the monkey suit during my interview! I am also, totally myself with my boyfriend and as a result I am the happiest and healthiest I have ever been in a relationship!

I just need to make sure I remember to do this as I start making more of my dreams come true! Thanks again, Gabby and congrats on your show with Oprah and realizing your dreams! xoxo

  17. Gabby,
This is such an important topic! It is so hard to be our authentic selves because I think deep down we fear that we aren’t enough. Letting go of that fear and embracing all that we are is so empowering. Love your reflections- thank you for sharing!

  18. Hi Gabby – I am registered for Sister Giant and had no idea you would be there. Hope you know to expect a huge-ass hug from me! With love from a huge fan, Melly Z

  19. Interesting… Maybe this is why I’ve been having such an incredibly hard time finding a job?

A huge(!) financial misstep 15+ years ago forced me to put my career plans on hold and follow an alternate path that could pay the bills. I’ve been unemployed and trying to find work for the last five years with no success. Maybe it’s because I’m not being “real”. The jobs I’ve been applying to mean nothing more to me than a paycheck. In order to go do what I’ve always wanted I would need to go back to school and take on a ton more school loans.

I guess I’ve gotten to the point of there is two choices…

    1) Go back to school and graduate with $200,000 or more in school loans, but be getting started in a career that means something to me.

    2) Hope to eventually find a job that means nothing to me besides a paycheck.
